O Corinthians apostava suas fichas em uma boa atuação diante do Huracán na última rodada da fase de grupos da Copa Sul-Americana para avançar na competição, mas não foi o que ocorreu. A equipe comandada pelo técnico Dorival Júnior voltou a pecar na noite desta terça-feira (27) e foi derrotada por 1 a 0 pelo time argentino, que atuou com reservas.
Desta forma, o Timão terminou em terceiro lugar no Grupo C, com oito pontos, e está eliminado do segundo torceio internacional em 2025 – antes havia caído de forma precoce também na pré-Libertadores, contra o Barcelona-EQU.
Após a partida disputada no estádio El Palácio, em Buenos Aires, Dorival Júnior lamentou a queda precoce no torneio e apontou um erro que o Corinthians vem cometendo sistematicamente como grande problema. “Pela terceira vez tomamos um gol no começo do segundo tempo, isso tem penalizado a nossa equipe consideravelmente, nos tirado pontos importantes e, inclusive, uma classificação no jogo de hoje”, destacou.
Desinteresse no Corinthians?
Segundo o treinador, a escalação levada a campo mostra que o clube queria muito seguir na disputa da Sul-Americana, descartando uma possível falta de interesse. “Teoricamente nós colocamos a melhor equipe para jogarmos a Sul-Americana, então não há como pontuar que exista um desinteresse de todos. Ao contrário, a nossa preocupação era a nossa passagem nessa fase, o que seria muito importante para todos nós”.
Próximos compromissos
Eliminado na Copa Sul-Americana, o Corinthians agora disputa ainda duas partidas pelo Brasileirão antes da parada para a Copa do Mundo de Clubes da Fifa. O Timão terá pelo frente o Vitória, no próximo domingo, ás 18h30, na Neo Química Arena, e depois ainda visita o Grêmio, no dia 12 (quinta-feira), às 20h. Além do Brasileirão, o clube alvinegro também segue na disputada da Copa do Brasil.
“Temos aí duas competições muito importantes e temos que nos voltar totalmente para tentarmos apagar e deixarmos uma impressão bem diferente daquilo que foram as duas competições (Libertadores e Sul-Americana)”, finalizou Dorival Júnior.
