In der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga liegt der Titelverteidiger mit einem Punkt Rückstand auf die Füchse Berlin auf Rang 2. Bei der männlichen U17 ist der SCM nur noch 60 Minuten vom Titel entfernt.
Die kleinen Magdeburger gewannen das Hinspiel gegen die TSV Burgdorf 31:28. Sonntag (16 Uhr) steigt das Rückspiel in Magdeburg – wahrscheinlich mit Top-Prominenz auf der Tribüne.

Handball-Bundestrainer will zum Junioren-Finale
Alfred Gislason hat sich den Sonntag im Kalender angestrichen, er möchte sich das Rückspiel der U17-Meisterschaft anschauen. Sein Assistent beim DHB, Erik Wudtke, war beim Hinspiel in Burgdorf zusammen mit Nationalmannschafts-Manager Benjamin Chatton in der Halle.
Die Magdeburger sind historisch mit sieben Titel-Gewinnen der erfolgreichste Verein bei den B-Junioren. Den letzten Erfolg gab es 2018, damals mit Nationalspieler Renars Uscins (23, TSV Hannover-Burgdorf) im Kader.
