Cooper Flagg’s rise to basketball stardom has been nothing short of meteoric-and he just took his biggest step yet toward NBA greatness. Days after declaring for the 2025 NBA draft, the 17-year-old phenom has officially signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), one of the most influential sports agencies in the world.
CAA welcomed Flagg with a fiery announcement on social media, signaling their high hopes for the Maine native’s professional career. The move all but confirms that Flagg is ready to make the leap to the next level-with the full backing of an agency that represents NBA heavyweights like Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Jalen Brunson.

A historic freshman season at Duke
In just one year at Duke, Flagg averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. His dominant performance helped carry the Blue Devils to the Final Four, though their run ended in a hard-fought loss to the Houston Cougars.

Flagg’s one-and-done season has already placed him at the top of most mock drafts. Despite long odds, the Dallas Mavericks landed the No. 1 overall pick and are now poised to pair Flagg with stars Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis, forming what could be a powerhouse trio in the West.
From NIL standout to NBA prospect
CAA’s relationship with Flagg isn’t new. Prior to his freshman campaign, Flagg partnered with the agency for his NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) representation-earning a reported $4.8 million in deals. Now, with his transition to the NBA on the horizon, the full-scale representation signals confidence in his marketability and star potential.
Flagg is part of a stacked draft class represented by CAA, including Auburn’s Johni Broome, Duke teammate Tyrese Proctor, and North Carolina’s Drake Powell.
What’s next for Flagg and Duke
While Duke fans will miss Flagg’s presence on the court, head coach Jon Scheyer isn’t starting from scratch. Despite losing several key players to the draft-including Proctor and projected lottery picks Kon Knueppel and Khaman Maluach-the Blue Devils are reloading with a strong recruiting class and transfer talent for 2026.
All eyes now turn to June 25, when Flagg is expected to hear his name called first on draft night.
