Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have reportedly enlisted the services of Jenny Afia, a prominent British lawyer from Schillings law firm, known for representing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
The couple’s decision comes amid ongoing tensions with the Beckham family, particularly following incidents at their 2022 wedding.
Afia previously defended Meghan Markle in her privacy and copyright case against the Mail on Sunday and appeared in a BBC documentary addressing staff bullying allegations against the Duchess of Sussex.
While representatives for Beckham and Peltz declined to comment, a legal source emphasized that the firm’s clientele is diverse and that the hiring underscores the importance of legal counsel in countering misinformation.
Wedding incidents fuel family discord
Tensions between Nicola Peltz and Victoria Beckham reportedly began over a wedding dress dispute. Initially, Victoria had offered to design Nicola’s dress for her 2022 wedding to Brooklyn Beckham.
However, plans changed when Victoria allegedly informed Nicola’s mother, not Nicola herself, that her atelier couldn’t make the dress. This led to speculation and accusations that Nicola snubbed Victoria’s fashion brand.
Further strain occurred during the wedding when Marc Anthony, a friend of the Beckhams, invited Victoria to the stage during his performance, allegedly overshadowing the bride and prompting Nicola to leave in tears.
Despite efforts to maintain family harmony, tensions persist, with Brooklyn and Nicola often absent from Beckham family events, including David Beckham‘s 50th birthday celebration.
Brooklyn has publicly expressed unwavering support for his wife, sharing a heartfelt Instagram post declaring, “I always choose you,” amid ongoing rumors of tension with his family.
While the couple continues to navigate their relationship in the public eye, their recent legal move suggests a proactive approach to managing their public image and addressing ongoing family dynamics.
