Walter Casagrande rasgou elogios ao momento protagonizado por Kaio Jorge, após o atacante de 23 anos ter sido decisivo no novo triunfo do Cruzeiro pelo Brasileirão, desta feita diante do Palmeiras, em choque da 11ª rodada. Protagonista, o artilheiro anotou dois tentos em apenas quatro minutos e garantiu o triunfo do time celeste, que agora saltou para vice-liderança do certame.
Em texto publicado na coluna do UOL Esporte, o ex-jogador foi convicto ao enaltecer a boa fase do atacante e o credenciou como o melhor atacante do futebol brasileiro na atualidade, indicando merecimento de uma convocação para a seleção, algo que ainda não aconteceu. Para ele, Kaio tem um inteligência acima do padrão, conseguindo surgir dentro da área sempre com muito perigo.
“Na minha visão, Kaio Jorge merecia ter sido convocado nesta primeira lista de Carlo Ancelotti. É um jogador muito inteligente, futebolisticamente falando, rápido, se posiciona muito bem dentro da área e tem uma ótima finalização. Kaio só tem 23 anos e está no seu auge técnico e psicológico, não para de fazer gols de todas as maneiras”, avaliou Casagrande.
Bons números
Na atual temporada, Kaio Jorge já pulverizou os números computados no último ano, quando foi anunciado pelo Cruzeiro no segundo semestre. Em 2025, são 10 gols e duas assistências em 17 jogos realizados entre quatro competições distintas. Somente no Brasileirão, o atacante soma oito gols em 10 jogos, sendo o vice-artilheiro, ficando atrás somente de De Arrascaeta.
O Cruzeiro, por sua vez, chega ao 11° jogo de invencibilidade na temporada, acumulando oito vitórias e três empates. O último revés do time celeste se deu no dia 24 de abril, diante do Palestino, pela Sul-Americana. O resultado positivo no confronto direto frente ao Palmeiras levou os mineiros aos 23 pontos, estando a um tento do Flamengo, novo líder da competição.
Casagrande define “virada de chave” do Cruzeiro
Ainda dentro do texto opinativo, concentrado nos elogios a Kaio Jorge, Casagrande fez questão de enaltecer o conjunto do Cruzeiro, parabenizando o trabalho de Leonardo Jardim, e definiu que o time mineiro se tornou outro, após a saída de Dudu, atacante que ficou um curto tempo na Raposa, e acabou sendo dispensado, após protagonizar problemas nos bastidores com o treinador português, e em curto intervalo de tempo já acertou com o rival Atlético.
No entendimento dele, o Cruzeiro não tinha mobilidade e ainda amargava entreveros no tempo que esteve com Dudu, e atualmente tem um cenário distinto, sendo uma equipe muito técnica e com a tranquilidade no trabalho do Mister. Desde que chegou no time mineiro, Jardim acumula 22 jogos, com 10 vitórias, seis empates e seis derrotas.
