Prskavec, který se začal vedle kajaku plnohodnotně věnovat jízdě na kánoi předloni a v minulém roce triumfoval na C1 na Světovém poháru v Praze, nezvládl ve Španělsku ani napodruhé upravený formát pohárových závodů. Z tria Čechů byl tentokrát nejlepší, ale na účast ve dvanáctičlenném finále, o jehož složení rozhodla jediná kvalifikační jízda bez semifinálové fáze, opět nestačil. Za vítězným Britem Adamem Burgessem, stříbrným medailistou z loňské olympiády, zaostal o 5,89 sekundy, od posledního postupového místa ho dělilo 1,77 sekundy.Martina Satková zajela v kvalifikační jízdě třetí čas, rychlejší byly jen Slovenka Zuzana Paňková a domácí Miren Lazkanová. Kneblová postoupila z desátého místa s více než pětisekunovou ztrátou na vítězku. Morenová byla první nepostupující kanoistkou, po čisté jízdě ji od 12. místa dělilo 21 setin.
