Aberta a temporada de seleções no vôlei, temos a disputa da Liga das Nações, torneio anual que coloca frente a frente as principais equipes do planeta. Em 2025, a VNL servirá principalmente de preparação para o Campeonato Mundial, disputa que acontecerá entre os meses de agosto e setembro na Tailândia.
Jogando diante da sua torcida, no ginásio do Maracanãzinho, no Rio de Janeiro, o Brasil não teve dificuldades para estrear com o pé direito e fazer 3 sets a 0 na equipe da Tchéquia. O segundo desafio, porém, será maior: a adversária será a seleção dos Estados Unidos, tradicional rival da seleção brasileira.
Nesta primeira semana de jogos, o técnico José Roberto Guimarães deixou nomes importantes de fora da relação como a ponteira Gabi e as opostas Rosamaria e Kisy. A tendência é que as atletas, que são ausências por conta de questões físicas, possam se juntar ao time entre a segunda e a terceira semana de disputa da VNL.
