El exjugador de Real Valladolid, Atlético de Madrid, F.C. Barcelona y Celta de Vigo se produjo un traumatismo craneoencefálico en una caída por el que estuvo en coma inducido durante tres semanas.
El exjugador y exentrenador, que sufrió un grave accidente el 30 de diciembre de 2020, explica en MARCA cómo está viviendo todo su proceso de recuperación.
“No podía ni hablar, pensé que era mejor haber muerto porque la gente estaría triste unos días y ya está…”, declaró Eusebio a Nacho Labarga en MARCA en 2023.
El exjugador y exentrenador, que sufrió un grave accidente el 30 de diciembre de 2020, explica en MARCA cómo está viviendo todo su proceso de recuperación y sus planes de futuro.
Eusebio Sacristán: “Estuve en coma inducido, despertó y me di cuenta que no podía hablar”
Eusebio ha relatado en ‘El Larguero’ de la Cadena SER su lucha para superar las secuelas que sufrió tras ese accidente.
“Estuve unos días en coma inducido y al final desperté. Fueron pasando los días y yo me iba dando cuenta que había tenido un accidente. Y al pasar esos primeros días, esos primeros meses, me doy dando cuenta de que no podía hablar”, le contó Eusebio a Manu Carreño.
El exentrenador de Celta, Real Sociedad y Girona recordó que “a medida que fue pasando ese tiempo me pregunté ‘¿pero bueno, por qué me ha pasado esto a mí? ¿Qué voy a hacer? Mi vida va a ser un desastre…’. Entonces empecé a pensar por qué me ha pasado y qué podría hacer en el futuro”.

“Miré para atrás y vi que mi vida había sido un éxito y conseguí todos mis objetivos. Fui futbolista, que es lo que quería de niño, y conseguí títulos. Llegué a ser campeón de Europa, que es lo que pedí de niño. Y luego fui entrenador y también llegué a mi objetivo”, reflexionó el de La Seca (Valladolid).

El exfutbolista de 61 años apeló al principal mantra de su carrera en el fútbol para enfrentarse al proceso de superación: “Pensé que lo que me queda ahora es lo que hice durante toda mi carrera: luchar, luchar y luchar”.
“Ahora me toca luchar por recuperarme, y si algún día me llego a recuperar le diré a todo el mundo que mi vida es un éxito. Creo que el éxito depende de toda la lucha que uno sigue en ese camino de conseguir algo. Y ahora me ha tocado hacerlo para recuperarme y estar bien”, apuntó.
