De volta à Série A do Brasileirão nesta temporada, o Santos sonhava em fazer uma grande temporada em 2025, ainda mais quando confirmou o retorno de Neymar ao clube, mas as coisas não têm saído como o esperado dentro de campo com o clube sendo eliminado nas semifinais do Paulistão, na terceira fase da Copa do Brasil e está na zona do rebaixamento no Campeonato Brasileiro. Para o ex-jogador Muller, a única saída para o clube se recuperar é trazendo muitos reforços.
Nesta semana, o Peixe anunciou que Alexandre Mattos será seu novo diretor de futebol, mas de acordo com o comentarista da TV Gazeta, o clube terá que dar condições financeiras para que o dirigente consiga fazer um bom trabalho, com a contratação de pelo menos sete reforços para todos os setores do elenco santista.
“O Alexandre Mattos, todo clube que ele passou foi a mesma coisa: teve autonomia e dinheiro para contratar. É um bom diretor. Espero que o Marcelo Teixeira dê autonomia, poder e dinheiro para ele contratar. Será que o Santos tem essa bala para dar para ele? O Santos precisa de uns sete reforços pelo menos”, avaliou Muller, em participação no “Gazeta Esportiva”.
De acordo com o “ge.com”, a diretoria santista já fez uma avaliação recente no elenco e detectou que o time precisa de reforços na lateral direita, zaga, meio de campo (volante) e ponta esquerda. Em sua apresen5tação, Mattos avaliou o elenco como bom, mas admitiu que precisa de alguns reforços, além de citar atletas que podem subir das categorias de base e jogadores que estão em baixa e pode se recuperar.
“Acho que o Santos tem um elenco bom. Como todo clube no mundo, toda janela que se abre no mundo pode ter um ajuste ou outro. Mas, com certeza, nós temos os nossos reforços aqui dentro, que é nossa categoria de base. Tem jogadores que a gente precisa recuperar que são bons jogadores, comprovadamente, já jogaram bem em algumas equipes e estão passando uma dificuldade aqui”, disse.
“Acima de tudo é o futebol se unir, aproveitar sempre os momentos que estivermos com a nossa torcida. Já joguei contra aqui e sei o tanto que é difícil jogar contra aqui. Acho que pro Santos o quanto antes sair dessa situação a palavra é trabalho e união. Nada diferente. Falar menos, trabalhar mais e conquistar os resultados que a gente precisa conquistar”, concluiu Alexandre Mattos.
Último compromisso antes de paralisação
O futebol brasileiro vai parar para a disputa da Copa do Mundo de Clubes da Fifa entre 14 de junho e 13 de julho, mas antes o Santos ainda tem mais um compromisso pelo Campeonato Brasileiro e precisa de uma vitória para melhorar sua classificação. O time visita o Fortaleza na próxima quinta-feira (12), às 19h30 (de Brasília), na Arena Castelão. O Peixe é o atual 18º colocado, com oito pontos.
