Cestě Chivua na lavičku Interu už nic nebrání. Ukončil své angažmá v Parmě

Chivu přišel do Parmy letos v únoru s cílem udržet tým v Serii A, což se mu díky šestnáctému místu v konečné tabulce povedlo.

Carli Lloyd’s game-winner, USWNT reunion and a $1 million prize: TST balances fun with fire

The past few days in Cary, North Carolina have felt like a U.S. women’s national team reunion, complete with slide tackles and a $1 million prize on the line. World Cup winners like Heather O’Reilly, Carli Lloyd, Ali Krieger and Hope Solo laced up once again, not just for nostalgia, but to satiate that ever-present hunger for competition and glory.AdvertisementTheir battleground was The Soccer Tournament (TST), a seven-a-side, winner-takes-all competition which is equal parts entertainment and sport. And for the second year in a row, it has become something of a post-retirement playground for the U.S. women’s national team.Starting last week, games were played on a smaller field with a fast-paced format designed for high-stakes and comebacks. The tournament featured rolling substitutions and target score time, meaning a game finishes on a final goal as opposed to when time ends. […]

Caitlin Clark injury update: Fever star out vs. Dream, will miss fifth consecutive game with quad strain

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark still needs more time to recover from a left quad strain that has kept her sidelined for the last four games. She will not play on Tuesday against the Atlanta Dream, Fever coach Stephanie White told reporters after practice on Monday. "We've got to work both [Clark] and Sophie [Cunningham] back into [basketball condition]" White said. "It's one thing to do some shooting drills, it's another thing to get out there on the floor, get back into movement patterns, rhythm, timing. ... Both of them, being out for long periods of time, you've got to work your way back into being game-ready.""I don't know if 'cleared' is the right word," White continued. "We're ready to start ramping back up ... It's completely different when you're just doing one-on-one workouts [then] when you're out there in five-on-five, […]

Where does Brad Marchand rank among the all-time best trade deadline moves?

When Brad Marchand was traded from the Boston Bruins — with whom he had spent his entire NHL career — to the Florida Panthers on March 7, few could have predicted the veteran forward’s impact. That’s particularly true considering his age (36 at the time) and the fact that he was sidelined with an upper-body injury when the trade happened. But the 2011 Stanley Cup champion has been huge for the Panthers in the playoffs so far.AdvertisementHis goal 8:04 into double overtime in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final — his second of the night — which secured a 5-4 win for Florida and evened the series with the Edmonton Oilers at one game each, was the latest example. On the latest episode of “The Athletic Hockey Show,” Mark Lazerus and Max Bultman debated whether Marchand is establishing himself as one […]
