La Liga hat entschieden: Der Start der neuen Saison bleibt unverändert! Trotz Gerüchten über Widerstand von Real Madrid und Atletico Madrid wird am geplanten Termin festgehalten.

Real und Atletico im Stress

Beide Teams stehen vor einem schweißtreibenden Sommer. Sie gehen in die neue Saison nach einem möglicherweise langen Kampf bei der Klub-WM. Das Turnier mit 32 Mannschaften in den USA verlängert die aktuelle Saison quasi um einen Monat.

In Europa brodelt es gewaltig. Die Klub-WM bringt mehr Spiele in den Kalender, dazu kommen mehrere Länderspielpausen im Jahr 2025. Die Qualifikation zur WM wurde in ein engeres Zeitfenster gepresst, aber es gibt dennoch drei Länderspielfenster im September, Oktober und November.

Real Madrid und Atletico Madrid könnten, wenn sie es ins Finale der Klub-WM schaffen, erst am 13. Juli ihre Saison beenden. Danach steht der wohlverdiente Sommerurlaub an.

La Liga bleibt hart

Der Spielplan wird im Juli von La Liga bekanntgegeben, aber eines steht fest: Die Saison beginnt am 16.-17. August. Sie endet am 24. Mai 2026, um eine dreiwöchige Pause vor der Weltmeisterschaft zu ermöglichen.

Laut AFE-Regeln müssen Fußballer 30 Tage Ruhe im Jahr haben, darunter mindestens 21 Tage am Stück nach der Saison. Der Abstand zwischen dem Finale der Klub-WM und dem Start von La Liga entspricht diesen Vorgaben – könnte aber die Teilnahme der Spieler an der Vorbereitung beeinflussen.

La Liga-Chef Javier Tebas machte klar, dass der neue Wettbewerb diesen Schritt nötig machte. „Es wird nicht in Betracht gezogen, dass Real Madrid oder Atletico Madrid den ersten Spieltag auslassen. Wir werden die Tarifvereinbarung respektieren, die dreiwöchige Urlaubspause und sonst nichts“, berichtete „Diario AS“. „Wir können unsere Liga nicht auf die Klub-WM ausrichten.“
