Um dos grandes nomes do Flamengo nos últimos anos e símbolo da retomado do clube desde 2013, o ex-meio-campista Diego Ribas acredita que o clube está muito bem preparado para ir longe na disputa da Copa do Mundo de Clubes, que começa neste sábado (14) com o duelo Inter Miami x Al Ahly, válido pela primeira rodada do Grupo A.
Durante uma palestra no evento “A Luta por um Sonho”, no Centro de Eventos da ABCZ, em Uberaba-MG, Diego revelou suas impressões sobre a preparação do time rubro-negro para a competição internacional e se mostrou confiante em uma ótima campanha.
“Eu espero um Flamengo, como sempre, muito organizado, muito sólido, defensivamente, principalmente, e um time que tem jogadores com capacidade de definir a partida em um lance. O Flamengo chega muito bem para esse torneio e, definitivamente, tem tudo para fazer um excelente Mundial”, disse Diego Ribas.
Flamengo e demais times brasileiros têm chance?
Perguntado sobre as chances de um time do Brasil conseguir disputar a final da Copa do Mundo de Clubes, o ex-jogador indicou que será muito complicado, mas que Flamengo, Palmeiras, Botafogo e Fluminense podem surpreender o mundo, pois são equipes que competem o tempo todo e podem igualar os rivais na vontade e na organização.
“O futebol europeu, nós sabemos que está um passo à frente, porque tem a intensidade, os melhores jogadores do mundo estão lá pelos investimentos, pelo poder econômico dos clubes. Um torneio de altíssimo nível e sabemos que, para os clubes brasileiros, não será uma tarefa fácil, mas é possível”, destacou Diego Ribas.

“Temos equipes muito competitivas, uma mentalidade muito forte e creio que chegarão no Mundial para fazer um bom torneio. Como brasileiros, não somos os favoritos. O futebol europeu está um passo à frente, onde estão os melhores jogadores do mundo e naturalmente eles vêm muito fortes”, concluiu o ex-capitão do Flamengo.
