Beyonce has allegedly made a notable gesture of deference to fellow music legend Mariah Carey, by vacating her exclusive penthouse suite at the luxurious Corinthia Hotel in London.
The move came as Mariah Carey arrived in the UK to perform at Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium this past weekend and represents a mark of respect from one of the industry’s biggest names.

According to a report by The Sun, Beyoncé had been staying in the hotel’s penthouse suites, priced at £34,000 per night, during her 12-night stay in the capital, where she recently performed at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, the 43-year-old singer is said to have vacated the suite for her adored colleague, famous for her All I Want For Christmas Is You hit that dominates the charts each festive season.
“Superstars as big as Beyonce and Mariah want to stay in only the best hotels,” a source told The Sun. “Beyonce had been staying in Corinthia’s penthouses.
“But when Mariah flew in, Beyonce packed up so Mariah could take over her suites. It was like Beyonce was bowing down to another music queen.”

The report has not been confirmed by either artist’s representatives, it has drawn significant attention given the stature of the two performers-both known for their commanding presence in the industry.
Meanwhile, Mariah Carey’s arrival in London was also marked by headlines around her backstage requirements at Capital’s Summertime Ball as she appeared alongside Will Smith, in what was a highly anticipated performance following a six-year absence from UK concerts.
On the event’s red carpet, Capital Radio’s host, Sian Welby, revealed that Carey had completely transformed her dressing room space.
“We will do what we’re told,” Welby said to The Sun. “When it comes to Mariah, she is the boss.
“She’s changed the whole dressing room to just be called Mimi’s World. Doesn’t even have Capital branding anymore. It’s all her zone.”
Carey’s reputation for elaborate requests is not new. During her 2023 Christmas Time tour, sources claimed she implemented strict backstage protocols as staff members were reportedly instructed not to speak to or photograph the singer.
Controversially dancers deemed “unattractive” were allegedly barred from the tour, and it was also reported that Carey required a full glam squad even during early rehearsals.
“Mariah is just being so extra this year,” one source told DailyMail.com at the time. “She is getting paid an insane amount of money…
“One of her requests was that her main backup dancers are all ‘hot’ men. She also requested hair and makeup for the rehearsals.
“Everyone who is directly involved in the production has been asked not to speak to Mariah or take photos with her.”
