Pak zrušil chystaný start na domovské Julisce při Memoriálu Josefa Odložila, dalšími mítinky podle původního plánu mají být páteční Diamantová liga v Paříži a příští úterý ostravská Zlatá tretra.
Vedle překážkářky Nikolety Jíchové, která po operaci kolene nestihne celou sezonu, a čtvrtkařky Lurdes Glorie Manuel, která pro svalové zranění zatím rušila starty v její úvodní části, chybí i dálkař Radek Juška.
Jinak jsou v týmu všechny opory včetně koulaře Tomáše Staňka, výškaře Jana Štefely či tyčkařky Amálie Švábíková.
V Madridu bude závodit šestnáct týmů, ve čtvrtek nejprve tyčkaři v centru města, pak ve třech večerních blocích na stadionu už atleti v ostatních disciplínách. Sestoupí tři země s nejhorším bodovým součtem, naposledy před dvěma lety v Chořově byli Češi devátí, a udrželi se tak s přehledem.
