The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) are back in action – on and off the football field. After making waves with their Netflix documentary, America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, the iconic squad recently issued an official announcement: Training Camp 2025 is officially underway.
For the first time in history, the audition process was expanded into a live, fivecity Texas tour – DCC On Tour – including Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Midland and El Paso. Fans at each stop voted for their favourite candidates, injecting energy and community involvement into the selection process.
From virtual video submissions in May to spirited inperson auditions, hopefuls are now in Frisco, competing for just 36 final roster spots.
What caught many by surprise was the seamless integration between reality-TV exposure and traditional sideline excellence. The DCC’s Netflix debut last year covered their emotional journey – grueling auditions, fitness testing, mental resilience, and the struggle for body-image acceptance.
That transparency garnered both praise for shining a light on athlete sacrifices and criticism over low pay and high-pressure environments.
A new era shaped by media and motion
Under longtime leadership – Kelli Finglass (Senior Director) and Judy Trammell (Head Choreographer) – the DCC have embraced their role as “America’s Sweethearts” while evolving with modern expectations.
Season 2 of the Netflix series debuts June 18, 2025, offering an even deeper look at the vets and rookies preparing for the upcoming NFL season.
On the business side, the squad recently announced a partnership with Charlotte Tilbury – its first official beauty brand collaborator – linking glam with grit on game day and beyond.
Meanwhile, in March, pilots and workouts kept their social media presence strong, with former members like Claire Wolford supporting the current group.
This season, the DCC are defined by more than flashy kicks and pompom routines. Their presence signals a shifting landscape – embracing media transparency, community interaction, brand expansion, and advocacy for cheer squad equity.
As candidates train, rehearse, and vie for roster spots, all eyes will be on Frisco. Whether it’s their resilience under the Netflix lens or their influence at AT&T Stadium, Dallas’ beloved squad is rewriting what it means to be America’s Sweethearts.
