The Kansas City Chiefs have established themselves as the modern NFL dynasty, and at the heart of that reign is quarterback Patrick Mahomes. With eight seasons under his belt, the 28-year-old has already crafted a resume that rivals some of the greatest to ever play the game and his teammates are taking notice.
In a recent team video shared by the Chiefs during a media shoot, new wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown made a bold proclamation. As players passed the phone in a playful trend, Brown handed it off with a now-viral message: “It’s Hollywood Brown, I’m passing the phone to the greatest player of our generation,” he said.
Seconds later, Mahomes appeared on screen with a grin and a humble response: “I’m Patrick Mahomes.”
Mahomes’ resume fuels GOAT debate
While the quarterback wasn’t about to repeat Brown‘s glowing words himself, the sentiment continues to reflect what many fans, analysts, and players are beginning to accept-Patrick Mahomes is on a historically elite trajectory.
In just eight seasons with Kansas City, Mahomes has already amassed three Super Bowl titles, five AFC Championships, two regular-season MVP awards, two Super Bowl MVPs and six Pro Bowl selections.
He is one of the few quarterbacks in NFL history to win multiple Super Bowls before turning 30, and his performances in the postseason have become the stuff of legend.
Last season, Mahomes continued his dominance with 3,928 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and a 67.5 percent completion rate. And while his numbers may have dipped slightly compared to his gaudier past seasons, his leadership and clutch performance never wavered.
Tight end Travis Kelce, Mahomes’ most trusted target, also remained a steady contributor, finishing with 97 receptions for 823 yards and three touchdowns. Their chemistry is one of the most prolific quarterback-tight end duos in NFL history.
Hollywood Brown’s arrival only adds firepower
Brown’s praise might carry even more weight given his new arrival in Kansas City. The former Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals receiver joins the Chiefs this season, bringing speed and big-play ability to an offense that was criticized at times last year for lacking explosiveness outside of Kelce.
The addition of Brown could mark a resurgence in Mahomes‘ deep-ball production, a threat that has always been part of his signature style. Now with Brown on the outside, Mahomes will have another weapon to stretch defenses, making the Chiefs even more dangerous.
