Das teuerste Turnier der World Series of Poker in Las Vegas ist Geschichte. Gleich 63-mal wurde das Stargeld von 250.000 Dollar auf den Tisch gelegt – ein Event der Extraklasse. Doch jubeln durfte am Ende nur Einer: Der amerikanische Poker-Profi Seth Davies entscheidet das Turnier für sich und sackt neben seinem 1. Gold-Armband auch noch schlappe 4 Mio. Euro ein.

Ganz nebenbei knackte der Mann aus dem US-Staat Oregon auch noch zwei persönliche Bestmarken: Zum einen ist es sein höchster Karriere-Sieg aller Zeiten. Zuvor lag dieser bei rund 3,7 Mio. Euro. Zum anderen durchbricht er mit dem Gewinn auch noch die 40 Mio.-Euro-Schallmauer. Damit fliegt er in der ewigen Kohle-Rangliste in die Top 20.
Allerdings war dieses Turnier ein harter Kampf. Nur die besten der Welt können sich dieses Buy-In von einer viertel Million überhaupt leisten. Kein Wunder, dass im Finale nur noch Schwergewichte am Tisch saßen. Unter anderem Bryn Kenney (rund 72 Mio. Euro Live-Gewinne), der die ewige Kohle-Rangliste anführt. Oder Chris Brewer, der das Turnier im letzten Jahr für sich entscheiden konnte.
Im Heads-up musste Davies gegen Landsmann Alex Foxen ran. Dieser nahm gemeinsam mit seiner Frau Kristen an diesem Turnier teil, allerdings schaffte es diesmal nur Alex ins Geld. Mit seinem zweiten Platz und 2,7 Mio. Euro an Preisgeld hat er die Familien-Kasse aber garantiert wieder aufgebessert.
[–>Fast hätte auch Deutschland wieder Grund zum Jubeln gehabt. Fabian Niederreiter schaffte es beim 3.000 Dollar 6-Max Event an den Final-Tisch. Jedoch ging es dann für ih sehr schnell zu Ende, sodass er auf Platz 7 die Koffer packen musste. Immerhin durfte er sich über rund 65.000 Euro freuen. Hoffnung auf einen deutschsprachigen Sieg gibt es im 1.500 Dollar Monster Stack. Ösi-Zocker Klemens Roiter liegt bei noch sieben Spielern auf Platz 3, hat die Chance auf über 1 Mio. Euro an Titel-Prämie.
Übrigens: Vom 15. bis 29. Juni geht es auch auf der Poker-Plattform von GGPoker wieder hoch her. Das „Micro Festival“ mit einem garantierten von 10 Mio. Dollar wird für jede Menge Action an den Online-Tischen sorgen. Nach dem World Festival, das nächste Knaller-Event.

Richard Sherman charged with DUI: Ex-Seahawks star, Super Bowl champion hit with second such charge since 2021
Getty Images Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman has been charged with driving under the influence following his arrest in King County back in 2024, according to the Seattle Times. Blood-test results from the State Patrol crime lab showed Sherman had a blood-alcohol level of approximately 0.11 the night of his arrest, which is above the legal limit of 0.08. Sherman was arrested following a traffic stop around 2 a.m. on Feb. 24, 2024. A Washington State Patrol officer noted Sherman's car was "bouncing back and forth within the lane it was traveling in." The five-time All-Pro cornerback refused a Breathalyzer, but did agree to some voluntary tests. Sherman showed signs of impairment during those voluntary tests, and he was arrested. Once in custody, police obtained a warrant to draw Sherman's blood. The sample, which was taken approximately two hours after the former […]
Tampa Bay Rays are in talks for a potential sale amid stadium uncertainty
