OKC vem de duas vitórias seguidas e vence por 3 a 2; Shai Gilgeous-Alexander e Jalen Williams brilharam no jogo 5 da série
Depois de se ver em situação complicada na série, o Oklahoma City Thunder venceu duas seguidas contra o Indiana Pacers e assumiu a liderança por 3 a 2 nas finais da NBA. Nesta quinta-feira (19), as equipes se enfrentam pelo jogo 6, que pode dar o título ao OKC, com transmissão da TV Band, ESPN, e NBA League Pass, às 21h30 (de Brasília).
Favorito na grande decisão, o Thunder está pela primeira vez em vantagem no confronto. Na última segunda-feira (16), a equipe do oeste ficou à frente no placar praticamente a partida toda, mas Indiana cortou a diferença para apenas dois nos minutos finais e novamente ameaçou vencer fora de casa. No entanto, o defesa de Oklahoma apareceu e foi decisiva para confirmar a vitória.
Shai e Jalen Williams em alta por OKC
O MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander mais uma vez fez sua parte, igualou recordes de Michael Jordan e LeBron James, e terminou com 31 pontos, sendo o quarto jogo com 30+ pontos nas finais. No entanto, o maior destaque foi Jalen Williams com incríveis 40 pontos na atuação mais importante de sua carreira.
“Eu só fui agressivo desde o começo do jogo”, explicou Williams. “Tenho sorte, pois os meus companheiros de time permitem que eu descubra aos poucos os espaços da quadra em que posso tentar ser mais dinâmico. Precisando urgentemente da vitória para se salvar nas finais, o Indiana Pacers joga em casa e conta com o apoio de sua torcida. O grande problema fica por conta do armador Tyrese Haliburton, que está sentindo dores na panturrilha e se tornou dúvida para o decisivo jogo 6.
Se estivesse na temporada regular, o jovem de 25 anos confessou que ficaria de fora por uma ou duas semanas para tratar o problema: “Provavelmente seria o caso, mas não estamos na temporada regular, então é o que é”, afirmou o camisa 0 de Indiana, dando a entender que vai jogar no sacrifício.
Ele somou apenas 4 pontos no duelo passado e ficou no banco de reservas em alguns momentos importantes. Com 3 a 2 para o Thunder, o time do leste tem como missão forçar o jogo 7 das finais da NBA, programado para o domingo (22), às 21h (de Brasília), se for necessário.
