O futuro de Thiago Maia no Internacional está em aberto. A saída do meio-campista do Colorado no segundo semestre se tornou uma possibilidade, diante do interesse que o atleta atrai em clubes dos Estados Unidos, que teriam sondado o volante. A especulação foi uma das pautas dos “Donos da Bola RS” na afiliada gaúcha da Band ontem (17).
Na opinião de Ribeiro Neto, Thiago Maia não rendeu o esperado vestindo a camisa colorada desde quando chegou ao Beira-Rio no ano passado. “Nunca foi aquele jogador que a gente esperava”, opinou o experiente comentarista, que acrescentou: “Aquilo que o Inter prometeu pagar, nunca valeu isso. Então o Inter está desesperado para se livrar. É ruim dizer isso”.
Internacional tem parcelas para pagar ao Flamengo
Mesmo com a lesão de Fernando que abriu espaço para Thiago Maia no time titular de Roger Machado, o Internacional não descarta a negociação de nenhum atleta por conta da condição financeira do clube. Contratado em 2024 junto ao Flamengo por 4,5 milhões de euros (R$ 28,3 milhões, na cotação atual), o meio-campista quase se transferiu para o Santos em 2025. O Colorado planeja que o eventual novo clube do jogador assuma as parcelas restantes da compra que o time gaúcho exerceu junto ao time da Gávea.
Para Ribeiro Neto, o Internacional deseja vender Thiago Maia para passar a dívida com o Flamengo para outro clube. “O Inter há muito tempo, desde a questão do Santos, ele quer se livrar disso porque ele não vai pagar o Flamengo, entendeu? Então qualquer coisa que vier perto do que ele supostamente iria investir, mas que ele deve, ele vai entregar o jogador”, previu.

O jornalista colorado Alexandre Ernst recordou dos atos heroicos de Thiago Maia nas enchentes no Rio Grande do Sul no ano passado, quando o volante ajudou nos resgates aos flagelados enquanto estava sem jogar em competições como o Brasileirão. “Vai ficar sempre nos corações de todos os gaúchos”, disse, motivando aplausos dos seus colegas de mesa redonda.
Porém, o debatedor salientou o desejo do meio-campista de deixar o Beira-Rio para jogar ao lado de Neymar no Santos, na negociação que acabou não se concretizando. Assim, Ernst mandou um recado para Thiago Maia, deixando claro que o meia não está mais com o foco no Internacional. “Esse tipo de jogador não me serve”, introduziu.
“Se tu não quer estar no Internacional, então pode ir embora, meu amigão! Eu gostaria muito que tu ficasse porque eu acho que tu tem bola, eu acho que tu é um baita jogador. O jogador do Flamengo a gente não viu aqui, ainda que ele teve uma certa melhora principalmente no ano passado”, analisou.
