Železný o spolupráci s indickou superstar: Fanoušci ho nenechají ani v klidu najíst

Čerstvě 59letý nejúspěšnější oštěpař historie hovořil o popularitě svého svěřence, jehož sleduje na Instagramu téměř deset milionů fanoušků, o blížící se Zlaté tretře, které šéfuje, i o neuskutečněné vizi, aby v jeho skupině zůstal i Jakub Vadlejch.

Jak se vám zatím s olympijským vítězem z Tokia a úřadujícím mistrem světa Čoprou pracuje?

Jsem hrozně rád, že s ním můžu spolupracovat. Je hrozně fajn kluk a ví, co chce. Myslím, že jsme si sedli. Pracovali jsme hlavně na tom, aby byl zdravý, to je základ. Z toho jsem měl trochu obavy ze začátku, po operaci ruky téměř dva a půl měsíce netrénoval.

Začátek spolupráce byl přitom snový, hned na úvodní Diamantové lize v Dauhá poprvé v kariéře přehodil devadesát metrů.

Bylo vidět, že je hodně nervózní, byl tam pod obrovským tlakem, přijela spousta indických novinářů. Čekal na to strašně dlouho. Už když hodil prvním pokusem skoro 88 a půl metru, trochu to ze mě spadlo, protože jsem věděl, že to je skvělý výkon. Ale zároveň jsem viděl velkou chybu, kterou při tom udělal. Říkal jsem mu: „Kdy jindy, když ne teď? Máš podmínky, formu, musíš jít a hodit daleko.“ Pak se to povedlo a já vím, že mohl hodit ještě dál. Ale je dobře, že zlomil bariéru, která ho už nebude trápit, a může se posouvat.

Je silná osobnost, s tím se musíte narodit, v tom už se zlepšit nemůže. Ale pořád může měnit techniku, zesílit, zrychlit. Věk na to má, do nějakých 33 let se to dá zlepšovat (Čoprovi je 27 let, pozn. red.). Ale ne ze dne na den. On je rotační závodník, já taky tak házel, takže vím, že to je náročné, ale třeba za rok to bude o dost lepší.

Může jednou ohrožovat i váš světový rekord 98,48 metru?

Jednou určitě, proč ne. Sám ví, že to je ještě hodně daleko, ale touží se pořád zlepšovat. Proto mě oslovil, že má oštěp rád a chce se posouvat. A může nastat zlom, kdy vám uletí dlouhý hod. Ale jsou tam i jiní závodníci, kteří to můžou zvládnout.

Vyprodaná Zlatá tretra

Úterní ostravská Zlatá tretra slibuje plný dům, poslední lístky už z předprodeje zmizely. Diváky láká start švédské tyčkařské hvězdy Duplantise, indického oštěpaře Čopry, nizozemského běžeckého esa Femke Bolové či domácí elity. „Jsem rád, že po éře Usaina Bolta zase stoupá návštěvnost. Diváci slyší na velká jména, termín před prázdninami slibuje teplé počasí, Duplantis teď skočil další rekord, všechno zapadá,“ libuje si šéf mítinku Jan Železný.

Kolik času s Čoprou trávíte? Mezi závody je s vámi v Praze?

Jsme spolu v podstatě pořád. Od soustředění v Africe celou dobu, akorát jsem s ním nejel na týden do Turecka. Jinak jsme v Praze, v Nymburce… Po Zlaté tretře letí do Indie, kde pořádá závody. Já mu slíbil, že tam na dva dny zaletím. Pak trénujeme tady až do mistrovství světa. Ví, že když chceme spolupracovat, tak se vším všudy.

V Indii chystá oštěpařský mítink, který po konfliktu s Pákistánem musel odložit. Ptá se vás na rady jako šéfa Zlaté tretry?

Bavíme se o tom. Aby se mítink rozjel, bylo by fajn přidávat další disciplíny a Indie ty možnosti nabízí. Je to velký trh, zajímavý pro Světovou atletiku. On má touhu dělat i něco dalšího, nejen házet. Já mu říkal: „Na všechno se vykašli – a házej. Udělej si tým lidí, který se o všechno postará, a ty jen říkej ano, ne.“ Jak musel mítink odložit, bylo vidět, jak ho to zasáhlo, řešilo se, koho pozval (olympijského vítěze Nádíma z Pákistánu)… Je na to citlivý, tak jsem mu říkal, že tohle vše mají řešit lidi okolo.

V Indii je Čopra obrovsky populární, už jste to stihl pocítit i vy?

Zatím jsem v Indii nebyl, ale vidím to i v okolí. Ani jsem nevěděl, kolik je v Praze Indů. Vzal jsem ho tu do restaurace a měl problém se najíst. Oni jsou trošku jiní. Když přijde Čech, chce podpis nebo fotku a jde pryč, oni se dlouho zdržují. Sám říká, že musí trénovat v zahraničí, protože doma nemůže dělat, co by chtěl. To mu vůbec nezávidím.

Když jste vzal Čopru do skupiny, plánoval jste, že v ní zůstane i mistr Evropy Jakub Vadlejch, který se ale rozhodl odejít. Věřil jste, že by to fungovalo?

Už se k tomu nechci vracet, ale já s tím počítal. A pak jsem přemýšlel, jestli ano, nebo ne. Ale říkal jsem si, že za těch čtyřicet let, co házím a trénuju, jednoho cizího závodníka vezmu. A takového, o kterém jsem vždycky mluvil, což potvrdí všichni kluci. Říkal jsem, že kdybych měl někoho vzít, tak Níradže. A ono to přišlo. Samozřejmě jsem myslel, že i s Kubou. Na druhou stranu, když jste s někým dlouho, změna může prospět. Kuba musí zůstat zdravý a ještě může házet daleko.

Ani jedno se mu zatím letos na jaře nedaří, odhlásil se po nemoci i ze Zlaté tretry…

Já s ním tolikrát nebyl, jen si přečtu, že byl nachlazený. Ale on to v sobě pořád má, je závodník. Moje přání by bylo, aby stáli oba na bedně. Mám svou práci s Níradžem i dalšími, ale je pro mě důležité, aby se na stupních objevil i český závodník. Pro mě byl jeden z nejkrásnějších zážitků olympiáda v Tokiu, kde jsme měli dvě medaile (stříbrný Vadlejch a bronzový Veselý). Víťu už jsem netrénoval, ale z toho jsem byl úplně vyřízený. Takový zážitek bych si ještě přál.
