Ainda conforme o portal, falta apenas um entendimento entre Barcelona e Athletic Bilbao, mas o atual campeão da La Liga não vê a cláusula de transferência de 60 milhões de euros (R$ 378 milhões, na cotação atual) como um obstáculo. O desafio maior do Barça é gerar espaço em seu orçamento salarial para registrar o ponta de 22 anos.
Nico Williams atraiu o interesse de vários clubes durante a janela de transferências, incluindo Arsenal, Liverpool e Bayern de Munique, mas definiu o Barcelona como sua prioridade. E um dos fatores para isso foi a possibilidade de jogar junto de Lamine Yamal.
