Escuderia vem melhorando os próprios resultados na F1 estendeu o vínculo profissional por pelo menos mais duas temporadas da categoria
A Williams confirmou nesta quinta-feira (19) a renovação contratual de James Vowles. Em nota, a escuderia de Fórmula 1 (F1) não esclareceu por quanto tempo o profissional vai permanecer vinculado, mas disse que se trata de um acordo de longo prazo. Isso significa que as partes concordaram em manter a parceria por pelo menos mais dois anos.
“Estou muito feliz por assinar um novo contrato com a Williams. (A empresa) me fez sentir em casa desde o momento em que entrei. Esta equipe icônica já me proporcionou memórias incríveis”, relatou o chefe da equipe automobilística.
Williams melhora resultados na Fórmula 1
Vowles foi contratado em 2023 para ajudar no processo de reconstrução da Williams, na Fórmula 1. A escuderia melhorou os próprios resultados desde então. Fez 28 pontos em 2023, caiu para 17 em 2024, mas está com 55 pontos na atual temporada e ameaça se consolidar como a principal equipe intermediária do grid.
“Estamos todos unidos em nossa ambição de construir nosso legado e vencer Campeonatos Mundiais novamente. Nos últimos dois anos, nos concentramos em consertar as bases e agora temos uma plataforma para buscar a glória nos próximos anos”, finalizou Vowles.
O presidente da Williams e da Dorilton Capital, Matthew Savagem, comemorou a renovação de contrato com o profissional ex-Mercedes. “Estamos entusiasmados com a assinatura de um novo contrato de James com a Williams e com o compromisso de seu futuro em completar a missão que estamos juntos”, disse.
“Ele trouxe experiência, energia e liderança estratégica para a tarefa de recolocar a Williams no degrau mais alto do pódio. Ainda não chegamos lá, mas vocês podem sentir o impulso que estamos construindo em Grove e estamos animados com o que nos aguarda”, finalizou.
