Everaldo foi o titular diante do Borussia, mas virou alvo da torcida depois de perder a talvez grande chance de gol do Fluminense na partida contra os alemães. Cano, por sua vez, entrou na segunda etapa e, ainda sentindo um pouco do ritmo da partida e também possivelmente ligado ao processo de recuperação da lesão, não conseguiu também grande sucesso em termos ofensivos.
Ao explicar porque preferiu tal escalação, Renato declarou que a escolha por Everaldo era justificada pela questão de forma física para encarar o time de Dortmund, além de um melhor encaixe tático. E também apontou que já havia definido que o argentino teria sua chance de entrar durante a segunda etapa, mesmo com as restrições físicas deste.
Necessidade de vencer pode ajudar
Agora, com a necessidade de vencer o Ulsan para ter maior tranquilidade em busca da classificação para as oitavas de final do Mundial, o técnico do Fluminense ainda não tem a decisão se manterá o titular da estreia diante do time da Coreia do Sul ou se trará o principal, artilheiro do time nos últimos anos para começar jogando.
O que pode pesar a favor de Everaldo é o fato de que Cano pode não estar 100% para jogar os 90 minutos e, mesmo se começar no banco, ter a chance de entrar durante a partida. Até esta sexta-feira (20), o treinador tricolor deverá indicar qual será o rumo do ataque de sua equipe para encarar o segundo compromisso na Copa do Mundo de Clubes.
