O sistema defensivo do Botafogo conseguiu neutralizar o ataque do Paris Saint-Germain na vitória de ontem por 1 a 0, na segunda rodada do Mundial de Clubes. A prova disso é que, segundo a empresa Sofascore, especialista em dados e estatísticas, o time francês fez seu jogo com o menor número de finalizações no gol dos últimos 12 meses.
No momento ofensivo, o PSG até aparece como o time que mais finalizou, com 15 finalizações contra somente 4 do time de Renato Paiva. O Botafogo, porém, acertou suas 4 finalizações no gol — uma delas, no tento de Igor Jesus. Já o PSG acertou duas no alvo, jogou oito para fora e teve cinco bloqueadas.
Além dos méritos defensivos, o Botafogo também se tornou apenas o oitavo time a derrotar o clube francês na temporada 2024/25. Os comandados de Luis Enrique entraram em campo 60 vezes, com 44 vitórias, oito empates e oito derrotas.
