Almeida si připsal druhé etapové vítězství v závodě a na druhém místě průběžného pořadí vystřídal Francouze Juliana Alaphilippea, který dnes dojel s osmisekundovým odstupem pátý.
Před časovkou na 10 km, jež bude téměř celá do kopce, ztrácí Alaphilippe na krajana v čele 41 sekund. Čtvrtý Onley už má odstup 1:19.
Český cyklista Pavel Bittner, jenž v pátek obsadil sedmé místo v hromadném spurtu, dnes skončil na 124. pozici. Petr Kelemen v předchozí etapě klesl na poslední 135. příčku a dnes už neodstartoval.
