Ex-presidente do Timão também reconheceu que Palmeiras, Flamengo, Botafogo e Fluminense estão na Copa do Mundo de Clubes por merecimento
O futebol brasileiro é representado por quatro clubes no Mundial de Clubes da Fifa 2025. São eles: Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense e Botafogo. Apesar de serem times com alcance nacional, o interesse na competição é baixo. É o que afirmou Andrés Sanchez, ex-presidente do Corinthians, em entrevista concedida ao canal Bandsports.
“É óbvio que a Copa do Mundo de Clubes está tendo pouco interesse no Brasil porque não tá o Corinthians, mas realmente está lá foi quem mereceu. Acompanho um ou outro jogo. Difícil jogar nos Estados Unidos. Os campos não são especiais para o futebol. E outra coisa: o calor é insustentável né. Então é difícil também”, declarou.
Brasil está invicto no Mundial de Clubes 2025
O futebol nacional disputou oito jogos após duas rodadas da fase de grupos. O retrospecto é formado por seis vitórias e dois empates. O país pentacampeão mundial está com 83,33% de aproveitamento.
O Flamengo venceu Espérance e Chelsea. O Botafogo derrotou Seattle Sounders e PSG. O Palmeiras empatou com o Porto e ganhou do Al-Ahly. Já o Fluminense ficou na igualdade contra o Borussia Dortmund e fez mais gols que o Ulsan Hyundai.
A próxima bateria de jogos envolvendo times do Brasil inicia nesta segunda (23). O Botafogo enfrenta o Atlético de Madrid, a partir das 16h (horário de Brasília). O Palmeiras encara o Inter Miami no mesmo dia, porém às 22h.
Já classificado para as oitavas de final, o Flamengo joga contra o Los Angeles FC nesta terça (24), às 22h. E o Fluminense enfrenta o Mamelodi Sundowns na quarta-feira (26), às 16h.
Histórico do Corinthians
O Timão tem dois títulos mundiais reconhecidos pela Fifa. O primeiro deles foi ganho em 2000 após final contra o Vasco da Gama. A outra conquista ocorreu em 2012, numa decisão frente ao Chelsea.
