João Félix mais desvalorizado que nunca: será este o momento certo para voltar ao Benfica?

João Félix está, aos 25 anos, numa encruzilhada. O menino prodígio que saiu da Luz em 2019 por 127,2 milhões de euros está, hoje, muito longe do pico que o levou ao Atlético de Madrid. Com um valor de mercado atual de apenas 20 milhões de euros – os 70 milhões de euros com que deixou o Benfica, e ainda mais dos 100 milhões que chegou a registar em Espanha, são agora uma miragem – o internacional português vive o momento de maior desvalorização da carreira. Nesse contexto, volta a surgir a possibilidade – cada vez mais falada, tal como noticiou o jornal ‘Record’ nas últimas horas – de um regresso à casa mãe. Mas seria essa uma boa solução para as duas partes nesta altura, depois de Félix também ter falhado no recente empréstimo ao AC Milan?

Os prós…

Na Luz, Félix teria um ambiente favorável à recuperação do seu melhor futebol. Afinal, o Benfica é o clube onde Félix mais brilhou e, num contexto tático que o valorizasse e com o apoio de um público que nunca o deixou de admirar, poderia reencontrar a confiança perdida. Além disso, um regresso bem sucedido à Luz poderia relançar a sua carreira e abrir portas para uma nova grande transferência – ainda que nunca pelos valores do passado, isso parece claro. O regresso de uma figura como Félix também poderia funcionar bem do ponto de vista mediático, dada a popularidade do jogador, e seria um sinal claro de ambição por parte da estrutura encarnada.

… e os contras

Por outro lado, esta possível transferência, mesmo que se desse por empréstimo, certamente seria sinónimo de custos elevados e de um esforço financeiro significativo, mais não seja porque, apesar da quebra no valor de mercado, Félix continua a ter um salário incomportável para os padrões portugueses. A pressão e as expectativas à sua volta também poderiam complicar as coisas, pois voltar a uma casa onde se foi ídolo acarreta sempre riscos. Se não corresponder, o impacto poderá ser mais duro do que noutro clube, tanto para ele, como para a equipa.

Em suma, o regresso de Félix ao Benfica pode funcionar como uma espécie de oportunidade de redenção, mas também há o risco de ser um erro estratégico com elevado custo emocional e, sobretudo, financeiro. Tudo dependerá da capacidade do jogador para se reencontrar com as qualidades que já demonstrou no passado e, antes de tudo, da disposição do Benfica para correr esse risco – e claro, não esquecer que, avançando para a sua contratação, os encarnados terão sempre de chegar a acordo com o Chelsea, atual detentor do passe do futebolista com o qual tem contrato até 2031.
