Osmatřicetiletý Vávra doplnil v realizačním týmu u Nisy asistenty Miroslava Holeňáka s Davidem Mikulou.
„Podařilo se nám rozšířit realizační tým o odborníka v mladém věku, který má již zkušenosti ze zahraničí a také důležité zkušenosti z posledních měsíců, kdy byl prvním asistentem v pražské Spartě,“ vysvětlil Jan Nezmar, generální ředitel Liberce, který měl za nového muže do Prahy poslat podle spekulací i finanční kompenzaci.
„Myslím si, že je v dnešní době nezbytné mít co nejširší tým odborníků a věřím, že nás Michal dokáže zase o kousek posunout dopředu. Jsem přesvědčen, že do stávajícího realizačního týmu snadno zapadne a pomůže celému Slovanu, kde bude mít na starosti také Development program pro rozvoj talentovaných hráčů,“ dodal Nezmar.
Vávra poslední dva roky působil v pražské Spartě, předtím sedm let pracoval v Austrálii, trenérskou kariéru rozjel v Jihlavě.
„Realizační tým Slovanu pracuje dlouho pospolu, má zajeté mechanismy. Primárně budu nápomocný s útočnou fází a budeme chtít využít také mé zkušenosti z práce s mladými hráči a jejich zapracování do A-týmu. Budeme chtít, aby se naši mladí hráči a odchovanci stali do budoucna klíčovými prvky týmu,“ naznačil Vávra svou náplň práce.
Vávra je třetím mužem, který v červnu zamířil pod Ještěd z pražské Sparty. Liberec již posílil jednadvacetiletý záložník Hynek Hruška a krajní obránce Petr Hodouš. Opačným směrem odešel Santiago Eneme.
