Postupem mezi nejlepší osmičku si české basketbalistky splnily cíl, chtějí ale mířit ještě výš. V prvním zápase vyřazovacích bojů budou chtít české hráčky překvapit a poprvé od roku 2011 postoupit do utkání o evropské medaile. I v případě prohry ale mají svěřenkyně Romany Ptáčkové jistotu dvou zápasů o 5.-8. místo.
Základní skupinu odehrály reprezentantky na domácí půdě v Brně a před slušně zaplněnou halou předvedly tři skvělé výkony. S přehledem porazily Černou Horu i Portugalsko, s favorizovanými Belgičankami pak držely krok v prvním poločase. Postup si zajistily z druhého místa skupiny.
Ve čtvrtfinále Češky vyzvou vítězky skupiny D ze Španělska. Ty v základní části turnaje, kterou odehrály v německém Hamburku, porazily Velkou Británii i domácí Němky. O třetí výhře nad Švédkami ale rozhodly až v prodloužení.
