Vacek zajel časovku průměrnou rychlostí přes 55 km/h. „Trať byla velice náročná. Nejelo se mi úplně nejhůř, ale bylo to dost obtížné a to vedro to ještě ztížilo. Bylo to fakt utrpení, ale nakonec jsem to zvládl. Soupeři byli také silní, takže jsem rád, že jsem to zase dotáhl na ten mistrovský dres,“ řekl svazovému webu třiadvacetiletý jezdec elitní stáje Lidl-Trek, který byl loni jedenáctý v časovce na olympijských hrách v Paříži.
V neděli se pokusí v závodu s hromadným startem vylepšit loňské páté místo, po kterém byl rozladěný z marného sólového boje proti domácím týmům. Ve stejné situaci bude šampion z roku 2023 i tentokrát.
„Bude to samozřejmě náročné tím, že je tady hodně početných českých týmů, které si mě určitě budou hlídat. Pokusím se něco vymyslet a uvidíme. Dám tomu všechno. Buď to dopadne, anebo ne. Už jsem spokojený. Jsem dost unavený po Giru, těším se na pauzu,“ uvedl Vacek.
Dvacetiletá Kopecký vyhrála časovku na 22 kilometrů o 22 sekund před šampionkou z roku 2023 Eliškou Kvasničkovou. Třetí dojela stejně jako loni Jana Milec Jiřincová.
„Byl to moc těžký závod, protože bylo hrozně vedro. Naštěstí závod startoval brzy. Jsem každopádně moc ráda, že jsem vyhrála. V první části sezony jsem byla zraněná, takže jsem úplně nevěděla, jak to dnes bude vypadat, ale naštěstí jsem se cítila hrozně dobře a šlapala jsem dobré watty,“ uvedla Kopecký.
