The Friday MLB schedule features a full slate of action with 15 games and all 30 teams in action. The 2025 MLB home run race is tight with three players — Cal Raleigh, Shohei Ohtani, and Aaron Judge — starting to separate themselves from the pack. All three will be in action on Friday as Raleigh and the Mariners take on the Rangers, Ohtani and the Yankees take on the Athletics, and Ohtani and the Dodgers play the Royals. Should you target Raleigh, Ohtani, or Judge when making MLB home run picks on Friday? Spoiler: Our expert is all over Judge to go yard again on Friday for anyone playing the DraftKings King of the Diamond promotion.

SportsLine expert Jimmie Kaylor has broken down the MLB odds and just revealed his top MLB picks and MLB player props for Friday, June 27. Combining his three picks into an MLB Parlay at DraftKings Sportsbook would result in a boosted payout of +9594 (risk $100 to win $9,594), and would give you three players eligible for the DraftKings King of the Diamond promotion on June 27 (pre-boosted payout is +6396). New users can even take advantage of the DraftKings promo code offering $150 in bonus bets instantly with a $5 wager:

To take part in the DraftKings King of the Diamond promotion, users have to opt into the promotion on DraftKings Sportsbook, then choose between two and five players to place in any type of parlay (Same Game Parlay, SGPx) with a “To Hit a Home Run” bet. The parlay is also eligible for a 50% profit boost. ‘King of the Diamond’ is awarded to all MLB players who hit one or more home runs as part of the highest-scoring MLB team (from eligible games) of the day. In addition, check out our MLB parlay, our MLB prop picks and MLB home run picks for Friday.

Kaylor has been profitable as a handicapper across multiple sports since joining SportsLine, and his background as a former college and NFL player gives him a unique perspective when building his fantasy lineups and locking in his online sports betting picks.

Now, here are the Kaylor’s three picks for DraftKings King of the Diamond:

  • Aaron Judge HR (+190)
  • Matt Olson HR (+330)
  • Corbin Carroll HR (+285)

Aaron Judge to hit 1+ home runs (+190)

Judge and the Yankees host the Athletics on Friday. The reigning AL MVP has hit 12 home runs at Yankee Stadium this season, and enters Friday with 28 in total. A’s start Mitch Spence has had a solid season, but I like this spot for Judge to hit home run No. 29 on Friday night.

Shohei Ohtani to hit 1+ home runs (+220)

Ohtani and the Dodgers take on the Royals on Friday in a matchup that projects to be high-scoring with an Over/Under of 9.5 runs. Ohtani homered on Thursday, and enters Friday with 28 home runs on the season. He’ll be facing a lefty in Kansas City starter Noah Cameron, but that shouldn’t hinder is home run potential here.

Nick Castellanos to hit a home run (+600)

The Phillies-Braves matchup also projects to be a high-scoring affair on Friday with an Over/Under of 9.5 runs. Castellanos is a nice value play here at +600. The 33-year-old veteran has eight home runs this season and has plenty of protection in Philadelphia’s lineup. This is a game worth targeting multiple players given the likelihood of it being high-scoring.

PROFIT BOOST LIMITATIONS

Profit Boost Tokens are single-use and have no cash value. Token must be applied BEFORE placing bet. Profit boost is calculated on and only applies to net winnings (total payout less Qualifying Bet amount). For example, if New York is the highest scoring team for the Promotional Period and 100,000 customers opted into this Promotion and, using the Token, placed a Qualifying Bet on a New York player who hit a home run, each of those 100,000 customers would receive one (1) $10 Bonus Bet ($1,000,000 ÷ 100,000 = $10). Bonus Bet amounts will be rounded to the nearest whole dollar. Bonus Bets will be issued within 72 business hours following settlement of the Qualifying Bet. Qualifying Bets will be settled in accordance with outcome of the event for which they were placed.

If multiple players from the highest scoring team hit home runs, all customers who placed a Qualifying Bet on any such player will be eligible for a share of the prize pool. The total prize pool will be divided equally among all qualifying customers, regardless of which eligible player they bet on.

In the event no players from the highest scoring team hit a home run, the prize pool will instead be awarded based on players from the next highest scoring team during the Promotional Period. This process will continue until a team with at least one player who hits a home run is identified.

In the event two or more teams tie as the highest scoring teams, the prize pool will be split evenly among eligible customers who placed Qualifying Bets on players from any of the tied teams.

BONUS BET LIMITATIONS

Customers can choose when to use Bonus Bets and must select the Bonus Bet in their betslip before placing a wager. Failure to use a Bonus Bet before expiration will void the reward. Payouts from Bonus Bet wagers will be transferred to the customer’s cash balance and do not include the Bonus Bet stake. Ex: If a $10 bonus bet is placed at +100 odds and wins, only the profit of $10 will be credited to the customer’s account. Bonus Bets may not be combined with other bonus rewards and may not be eligible for use on all promotions and/or betting markets.

Deontay Wilder scores stoppage knockout of Tyrrell Herndon for first win in three years

Deontay Wilder is back in the win column. After losing back-to-back fights and four of five, the former WBC heavyweight champion returned to the ring in Wichita, Kansas to stop Tyrrell Herndon in the seventh round on Friday.Wilder was much more aggressive in the opening round than he was against Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang, pushing forward behind the jab. Herndon did little beyond circling away and looking to avoid contact, which he did well, avoiding most of Wilder's fire. Wilder continued to pressure in the second round and scored his first knockdown with a cuffing left hook that caught Herndon off balance and sent him stumbling to the canvas. Not particularly hurt by the shot, Herndon survived the round. As the rounds ticked by, Herndon tried to find small spots to unload big punches, and when he threw, Wilder […]

The legacy of Lionel Messi’s underwhelming time as a Paris Saint-Germain player

May 2023 proved to be a watershed month for Paris Saint-Germain.Up to that point, the French giants’ sporting project seemed to be faltering, certainly in relation to their ultimate goal of lifting the Champions League. Serial winners domestically, PSG had reached the point where only success in Europe’s premier club competition could bring them the validation they craved.AdvertisementThe problem they had was that nothing they did seemed to bring them closer. Even the signing of one of the world’s greatest players in Lionel Messi, who joined on a free transfer in August 2021, had not sufficiently moved the dial. If anything, adding the Argentinian to a front line already containing fellow stars Kylian Mbappe and Neymar only served to create additional layers of complexity and dysfunction. Two years on, they are finally European champions thanks to a 5-0 rout of Inter […]

Club World Cup prize money rankings: How much has each team earned so far?

Forty-eight games down, 15 to go.FIFA’s new, engorged Club World Cup has completed its group stage, 16 clubs are on their way home and, over the next fortnight, the remaining 16 will tussle to lift a trophy so gaudy even Louis XIV might have turned his nose up at it.Alongside that (notably heavy) trinket, whoever runs out victorious in East Rutherford in mid-July will also bank themselves a hefty cash prize. The winners of this summer’s tournament will earn a further $74.1million (£54m), including $40m from the final alone, on top of what they have already pocketed from the competition — and much of FIFA’s $1billion prize pot has now been allocated.AdvertisementEven before the round of 16 begins, we already know where nearly three-quarters of the money will go: $525m in participation fees were doled out before a ball was […]

Have Club World Cup attendances really been that bad?

The group stage of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has concluded and 48 of the tournament’s 63 matches have now taken place. The competition, which is being hosted in the United States, drew plenty of criticism in the build-up — including for how many games were being held in large, out-of-town stadiums in cities traditionally lacking in football (or soccer) fandom.AdvertisementSo what have attendances actually been like? How many stadiums have come close to filling all of their seats? How have crowd sizes compared to the American-hosted 1994 men’s World Cup and previous Club World Cups? And which have been the most and least-watched teams and groups at the tournament? Here, The Athletic dives into the numbers and lays out the facts surrounding the attendances so far.Firstly, this is what the attendance has been at each game so far at the […]

‘Long and slow’: For stagnant Wild, let’s hope Day 2 of the NHL Draft is more eventful than Day 1

ST.
