Neymar na Copa? 48% dos brasileiros querem, e outros 41% rejeitam convocação, aponta Datafolha

Faltando menos de um ano para o início da Copa do Mundo de 2026, que será sediada por Estados Unidos, Canadá e México, a possível convocação de Neymar, de 33 anos, para seu quarto Mundial provoca divisão entre os brasileiros. Segundo o Datafolha, publicado nesta sexta-feira, 48% dos entrevistados se manifestaram favoráveis à inclusão do atacante na lista de Carlo Ancelotti, técnico da seleção brasileira.

Por outro lado, 41% dos participantes rejeitam a convocação do jogador, que atualmente se recupera de lesão e tem histórico de desempenho irregular nos últimos anos. Ainda de acordo com a pesquisa, 7% disseram não se importar com a decisão e 3% afirmaram não saber opinar sobre o tema.

A margem de erro é de dois pontos percentuais para mais ou para menos, uma diferença de apenas três pontos, de 46% a favor e 43% contra. A rejeição se acentua ainda mais entre os brasileiros com 60 anos ou mais, faixa etária em que a maioria se opõe ao retorno de Neymar à seleção. Nesse grupo, 53% são contra a convocação, enquanto apenas 35% são favoráveis.

Enquanto os mais jovens enxergam no camisa 10 uma peça importante para a campanha rumo ao hexa, os mais velhos demonstram maior resistência, possivelmente influenciados por questões como histórico de lesões, comportamento extracampo e desempenho recente do jogador.

O instituto ouviu 2.004 pessoas com 16 anos ou mais, distribuídas em 136 municípios de todas as regiões do país. As entrevistas foram realizadas nos dias 10 e 11 de junho de 2025.

Neymar não foi convocado por Ancelotti para a última partida dupla das Eliminatórias Sul-Americanas, no início deste mês, na qual o Brasil garantiu sua vaga na Copa do Mundo de 2026 com um empate em 0 a 0 com o Equador e uma vitória por 1 a 0 sobre o Paraguai.

A seleção encerrará a campanha das eliminatórias em setembro, recebendo o Chile e visitando a Bolívia. Neymar é o maior artilheiro da história do Brasil, com 79 gols em 128 partidas. Ele jogou na Copa do Mundo de 2014, na Copa do Mundo de 2018 e na Copa do Mundo de 2022, no Catar.
