João Fonseca não conseguiu vencer o número 5 do mundo, Taylor Fritz, mas a torcida brasileira garantiu o entretenimento nas redes sociais. Após a vitória por 2 a 1 no ATP 250 de Eastbourne, o americano comentou em uma publicação oficial do torneio de forma irônica. Ele deu a entender que a comunicação do ATP está priorizando o brasileiro nos melhores momentos das partidas.
‘Treta’ entre Taylor Fritz e torcedores brasileiros
A ironia de Taylor Fritz levou torcedores de João Fonseca a responder o astro nas redes sociais, gerando uma treta com o americano. Isso porque o ranking 5 do mundo comentou em uma publicação da Tennis TV: “Comentando antes de assistir aos pontos… aposto que serão 80% de highlights de Fonseca, talvez 1 ou 2 pontos meus vencendo”.
Torcedores de João Fonseca responderam à altura, sobre Taylor Fritz fazer a maioria dos seus pontos através de aces (ponto de saque). “Podiam mostrar aquele ace ou aquele outro ace. Ah! Não podem esquecer do outro ace”, ironizou de volta um brasileiro no X. “O João Fonseca, com 18 anos, já está mexendo com a cabeça de um top 10”, observou uma torcedora.
Após a má repercussão, Taylor Fritz disse que tudo se tratava de uma brincadeira. Respondendo uma torcedora de João Fonseca, o americano disse: “É louco como as pessoas não têm senso de humor e levam tudo tão a sério, era para ser engraçado, por favor, relaxem”.

Enfim, João Fonseca está eliminado do ATP 250 de Eastbourne após a derrota para Taylor Fritz. O brasileiro chegou a avançar uma fase no torneio. Na fase de 32 o carioca passou pelo belga Zizou Bergs ao vencer por 2 sets a 1.
No entanto, não conseguiu ganhar de Taylor Fritz em uma partida que começou em um dia e terminou no outro. O duelo teve início na quarta-feira (25), mas não pôde continuar por falta de iluminação natural na quadra. Assim, teve que acabar nesta quinta-feira (26), com vitória do americano.
Agora, o próximo torneio de João Fonseca é o Grand Slam de Wimbledon, que começa na segunda-feira (30) e vai até o dia 13 de julho. Assim, o carioca deve intensificar sua preparação para o campeonato enquanto espera para saber quem será seu primeiro adversário.
