Jornalista do The Athletic, suplemento de esportes do jornal The New York Times, Liam Twomey elogiou o técnico do Flamengo, Filipe Luís, após a derrota por 4 a 2 do rubro-negro para o Bayern de Munique-ALE, pelas oitavas de final da Copa do Mundo de Clubes. “O Bayern mereceu ir às quartas, mas estou impressionado com o Flamengo e com Filipe Luís, um jovem treinador com um futuro muito brilhante”, escreveu em seu perfil no X, junto a análise da partida.
Em seu texto, o jornalista irlandês, que cobre o Chelsea, deu mais detalhes sobre o que viu de positivo na atuação rubro-negra. Para ele, o Flamengo era o mais forte dos quatro brasileiros que se classificaram para o Mundial de clubes, “treinado impecavelmente pela estrela em ascensão Filipe Luis”, e que não deixou o Bayern fazer tudo da forma como queria.
