Stefon Diggs controversy shouldn’t come as a surprise to Patriots or their fans

Henry McKenna NFL Reporter <!--> FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Leave it to Northeasterners to get carried away with their pearl clutching. New England is astonished at a celebrity conducting himself like … a celebrity.Yes, New England Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs went viral last week after a series of videos appeared on social media showing him partying on his girlfriend Cardi B's yacht. In the initial leak of videos, she was nowhere to be seen. One video showed Diggs surrounded by a group of women that he eventually handed an unidentified pink substance. Not long after, Cardi B posted photos and videos that indicated she was a part of the party, after all. That quieted criticism about Diggs' behavior with the other women. But, of course, that pink substance has been much discussed. What is it? We may never be sure. I don't condone Diggs' […]

Fantasy Football TE Landscape: If you’re not taking one of the Big 3, you’re better off waiting come draft day

Drafting Brock Bowers, Trey McBride or George Kittle is a 100% viable strategy this fantasy football season. All three can separate from the rest of the tight ends and have upside to match the production of wide receivers taken in the same range. Bowers in particular looks like a truly special talent who’s in a much-improved situation. But if you miss out on one of the Big 3 TEs this season, waiting until the end of drafts (or playing the waiver wire game) looks like a shrewd move.[Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season]I’m not here to argue tight end is deep. It has always been and remains fantasy’s thinnest position. However, there are many intriguing options who are available late (or don’t get taken) in fantasy drafts, and a handful of them have […]

New York Knicks head coaching candidates: Who should replace Tom Thibodeau?

When the New York Knicks fired Tom Thibodeau Tuesday, it came as another reminder of the harsh reality of life as an NBA head coach: Teams often decide that the head coach who got them there isn’t the one to get them to the end.The Knicks made that decision after they lost to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals, their longest playoff run in 25 years. The next Knicks coach, whoever it is, will be expected to help take the team further, especially after the front office went all-in last offseason with trades for Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns.AdvertisementSo who will be the next Knicks head coach? Here is, in alphabetical order, a list of potential options that could make sense, based on which coaches are currently out of a job or could make the jump from the […]

Knicks coaching candidates: Michael Malone leads list of six names to watch, plus a wild-card option

Getty Images Tom Thibodeau was, by far, the best New York Knicks coach of the 21st century. He led the team to the playoffs in four of his five years on the job. The Knicks made the playoffs just four times in the 19 seasons before he was hired. He won four playoff series. Carmelo Anthony only won one as a Knick and he's revered as a team icon. He took a team from seven consecutive lottery seasons to six wins away from a championship. And he still got fired. Those last six wins are the hardest. The Knicks are no longer grasping for respectability. This is a team that just invested six first-round picks into the trade market. The result was one more regular-season win, a slightly worse net rating, and a playoff run that at least partially boiled down […]

DOJ: California could be sued over participation of trans athletes

Lawrence North’s Tamika Beeler works at the long jump pit Tuesday, May 6, 2025, during a high school track and field meet between Lawrence North and Lawrence Central at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis. California's public school system could face legal issues if it continues to permit transgender athletes to take part in girls' athletic competitions. The Athletic reported Tuesday that Harmeet K. Dhillon, an assistant attorney general in the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division, said in a letter that allowing trans athletes to compete violates the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. That amendment guarantees equal protection. The letter was sent to the California Interscholastic Federation, the governing body of school sports, and said there could be legal repercussions. A CIF bylaw allows trans athletes to compete with girls, regardless of the gender listed on a student's academic […]

Both schools and the league approved the settlement’s terms in March, and Florida State’s counsel estimated the agreements would be finalized in 30 days. The whole process took almost three months, approaching a June 9 deadline in one of the Florida courts.AdvertisementThe initial settlement terms clarified issues if/when Florida State, Clemson or other ACC members moved to leave the conference.
