Kurz vor dem großen Duell gegen Real Madrid bei der Klub-WM spricht Juve-Coach Igor Tudor Klartext – über seinen Superstar-Gegner Luka Modric, aber auch über die riesige Herausforderung für seine eigene Mannschaft.
Tudor adelt Landsmann Modric: „In einem Land wie unserem, mit weniger als 4 Millionen Einwohnern, wird so jemand nur alle 300 Jahre geboren“, sagt der frühere kroatische Nationalspieler über den Real-Star. „Er ist ein Stolz für das ganze Land – nicht nur als großer Spieler, sondern auch als Mensch. Vielleicht wissen das nicht alle.“

Modric, inzwischen 40, zählt wohl zu den ganz Großen der Fußballgeschichte – und steht möglicherweise vor einem seiner letzten Spiele im weißen Trikot der Königlichen. Für Tudor ist klar: „Ich liebe ihn sehr. Ich hoffe, er hat weiter Spaß – er ist ja erst 40“, scherzt der Juve-Trainer.
Doch bei aller Bewunderung für den Mittelfeld-Magier gilt Tudors voller Fokus dem Kracher gegen die Madrilenen. Tudor warnt vor Real: „Ich habe ein Team gesehen. Einsatz. Ein echtes Real Madrid. Uns erwartet ein schweres Spiel – wir analysieren alles genau“, erklärt er.
