Paulinho fará nova cirurgia no Palmeiras após o Mundial de Clubes e Pedro Pontin, médico do Alviverde, explica lesão

Um dos destaques do Palmeiras no Mundial de Clubes tem sido o atacante Paulinho, que chegou nesta temporada ao Verdão, como uma das maiores contratações da história do clube. E ele vem decidindo as partidas mesmo jogando pouco tempo, por conta da sua condição física. O técnico Abel Ferreira já admitiu publicamente que ele pode atuar por cerca de 30 minutos.

No início do ano, Paulinho veio do Atlético-MG tendo acabado de passar por uma cirurgia. Em 2024, o atacante jogou cerca de nove meses com dores, por conta de uma fissura óssea na tíbia da perna direita. Como o Galo não queria perder uma peça importante, ele passou a temporada à disposição do clube, mas atuava com a ajuda de injeções. No final do ano, foi realizada uma cirurgia, semanas antes dele chegar no Alviverde.

Inicialmente, o Palmeiras contratou o jogador sabendo que ele demoraria cerca de quatro meses para estrear, mas esperava que ele estivesse 100% após esse período, o que não aconteceu. Agora, após a Copa do Mundo de Clubes, o jogador terá que passar por um novo procedimento cirúrgico, podendo ser desfalque por mais dois ou três meses.

Médico do Palmeiras explica situação

Em entrevista dada à TV Palmeiras, o Dr. Pedro Pontin, chefe do departamento médico do Verdão, falou sobre a nova cirurgia que Paulinho terá que realizar. Primeiro, o profissional relembrou as condições que ele chegou no clube, confirmando que o atleta jogou a ultima temporada com limitações, mas que estavam seguindo todo o cronograma correto de recuperação. Porém, o atacante acabou sentindo dores.

Então, o clube optou por fazer um controle de carga e intensidade dos treinamentos e jogos, mas não foi o suficiente para livrar ele das dores. “A gente conseguiu trazer para o Mundial em condição que a carga fosse controlada, com minutagem controlada para desempenhar o jogo e participar dos treinos. Infelizmente, mesmo com todo o controle, as dores persistiram. Isto desgasta, atrapalha a performance. É um atleta com projeto de longo prazo, jovem, talentoso”, disse o médico.

Sobre a nova cirurgia

Depois, Pontin fala sobre os motivos que o clube decidiu fazer uma nova cirurgia, citando a preservação de novos problemas. “Explicamos e vamos fazer um novo tratamento. Não queremos que ele passe uma temporada se desgastando, se colocando em risco para fazer outros tipos de lesão”, contou o médico do Palmeiras.

Por fim, ele explica o procedimento que será feito em Paulinho, visando mais conforto ao atleta para sua carreira. “Basicamente é uma fixação do osso, a gente pretende usar um implante resistente o suficiente para aguentar a carga. Agrega-se a esta fixação o que chamamos de enxerto ósseo, com o material do próprio atleta. Vai dar estabilidade, o osso com maior estabilidade possível para aguentar futuramente carga de treinos e jogos a que será submetido”, finalizou.
