Wimbledon 2025: Frances Tiafoe upset in second round by Cameron Norrie

The upsets keep coming at Wimbledon. Following an upset-heavy first round, American Frances Tiafoe added his name to the list of disappointing performers after an upset loss to Cameron Norrie on Tuesday.

Tiafoe lost the match in four sets (6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 7-5).

Tiafoe got off to a decent start, taking the first set 6-4 to secure a lead. But he couldn’t hold that momentum. Tiafoe dropped the next two sets against Norrie 4-6, 3-6, to fall behind in the match.

With Tiafoe on the ropes, the American decided to take a lengthy bathroom break ahead of the fourth set. His absence lingered longer than expected, causing some to accuse Tiafoe of trying to halt Norrie’s momentum. Tiafoe was gone long enough that some sites erroneously listed the match as over after just three sets, leading some to wonder whether Tiafoe retired due to an injury.

That was not the case. Tiafoe returned to the court for the fourth set, and initially seemed reinvigorated as he resumed play. But Norrie once again fought back, taking a 4-3 lead in the set. Tiafoe again showed signs of life, taking the next two games to make it 5-4, but Norrie battled back to win the set.

Norrie didn’t miss his opportunity to send Tiafoe packing. The Brit won the next two games, winning the fourth set, and the match 7-5.

The Dallas Mavericks continue to solidify their coaching staff for the 2025-26 season, and in addition to reportedly securing head coach Jason Kidd with a contract extension, the franchise is also expected to add Frank Vogel as its lead assistant. HoopsHype's Michael Scotto was first to report Dallas' move on the assistant coaching carousel. Fantasy Baseball: Spencer Schwellenbach’s fractured elbow forces longterm stash or cut decision

The Braves nightmare season took another terrifying turn Wednesday, as the team announced Spencer Schwellenbach has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a fractured right elbow. And if you're thinking this injury came out of nowhere, you're not wrong. Schwellenbach is coming off arguably his best start ever, striking out 12 over seven one-run innings against the Phillies Saturday. There were no real red flags in that start – his velocity was down 0.4 mph on his four-seamer, which is pretty typical – and Schwellenbach has been a workhorse lately, throwing at least six innings in 10 straight starts, including seven or more in seven of them. There was no sign that things were about to go wrong for Schwellenbach, but they did because, well, that's how pitching works. Schwellenbach will be sidelined from throwing for at least four weeks […]

Mike Brown’s success in New York will all come down to how he handles his relationship with James Dolan

The New York Knicks aren’t exactly a burning house, but Mike Brown is the coach you hire when you need an extinguisher.Having coached LeBron James and Kobe Bryant and been on Steve Kerr’s staff in Golden State, he’s been around the torchbearers and doesn’t seem to buckle under the lights. Brown changed the culture in Cleveland his first time around and in Sacramento more recently, learning from Kerr about loosening up a bit. He even joked he carried around pen and paper when Kerr delivered his messages to the Warriors team because they were simple yet effective.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHe doesn’t have a checkered track record, being a two-time NBA Coach of the Year, but after his initial stint in Cleveland from 2005-10, he hasn’t lasted long in his next few situations.
