Rodina Silvia Berlusconiho vyjádřila tento týden definitivní souhlas s prodejem AC Monza, tím končí ne nepodstatná epocha působení vlivného miliardáře v italském fotbale.
Podle zdroje obeznámeného s detaily dohoda oceňuje klub, který v uplynulé sezóně sestoupil ze Serie A, na přibližně 45 milionů eur. To vše samozřejmě s ohledem na aktuální dluh.
Prodej podle Reuters potvrzuje ústup rodiny z fotbalu po smrti čtyřnásobného italského premiéra a mediálního magnáta v roce 2023.
Berlusconi, který dříve vlastnil slavný AC Milán, převzal Monzu v roce 2018, kdy hrála ve třetí italské lize. Tehdy v rámci dohody údajně v hodnotě pouhých 3 milionů eur.
Monza vedená bývalým manažerem AC Milán Adrianem Gallianim, si v roce 2022 zajistila poprvé postup do Serie A, ale v minulé sezóně skončila na posledním místě. Tento pád donutil Fininvest, holdingovou společnost Berlusconiových, výrazně snížit účetní hodnotu klubu.
Podle dohody získá Beckett Layne Ventures zatím osmdesátiprocentní podíl v klubu, přičemž Fininvest si zpočátku ponechá pětinový podíl, než do června 2026 klub zcela opustí.
Od Berlusconiho převzetí Monza nahromadila ztráty údajně ve výši až 270 milionů eur. Jen v roce 2024 činila ztráta 48 milionů eur. Dluhy jsou neodmyslitelným koloritem fotbalu na Apeninském poloostrově.
Monza je zatím posledním italským klubem prodaným americkému investorovi. Vlastníky z USA jsou kontrolovány i Inter Milán, AC Milán, Řím, Parma, Fiorentina a Hellas Verona.
