Em intertemporada, o elenco do Grêmio vem se preparando para os desafios do segundo semestre. O Tricolor tem pela frente a disputa do Campeonato Brasileiro, da Copa Sul-Americana e da Recopa Gaúcha, marcada para a próxima terça-feira, 8 de julho. Pensando já na retomada do Brasileirão, o técnico Mano Menezes terá um desfalque importante, o lateral-esquerdo titular Marlon, que ficará de fora por questões contratuais.
O motivo que tira Marlon da retomada do Brasileirão
O lateral-esquerdo Marlon chegou ao Grêmio em abril deste ano, por empréstimo, até o fim da temporada. O jogador pertence ao Cruzeiro, justamente o primeiro adversário do Imortal na volta do Brasileirão. A partida está marcada para o dia 13 de julho, às 20h30, no Mineirão.
No contrato de empréstimo, ficou acordado entre as equipes que, para Marlon enfrentar o Cruzeiro, o Grêmio teria que pagar R$ 1,5 milhão ao clube mineiro. No entanto, isso não vai acontecer. Segundo Geison Lisboa, do Zero Hora, a decisão já está tomada e a diretoria tricolor não pretende contar com o jogador nesse jogo para evitar o pagamento previsto em contrato.
Lucas Esteves é a opção para substituir Marlon
O campo já vem dando indícios de que Marlon realmente não atuará contra o Cruzeiro, e que Lucas Esteves será o substituto. Durante a vitória sobre o Aimoré, em jogo-treino realizado nesta quarta-feira (2), Esteves foi escalado entre os 11 titulares que começaram a partida amistosa. Marlon, por sua vez, participou apenas da segundo metade da atividade.
De acordo com Geison Lisboa, Mano Menezes teve a intenção de dar ritmo de jogo a Lucas Esteves, e essa estratégia pode ser mantida para a Recopa Gaúcha, contra o São José, com Esteves entre os titulares e Marlon no banco de reservas.
Torcedores apoiam decisão da diretoria
Pensando no futuro, muitos torcedores aprovaram a decisão da diretoria do Grêmio de não pagar os R$ 1,5 milhão para que Marlon atuasse. Um dos principais argumentos é a estratégia de economizar agora para tentar adquirir o jogador em definitivo ao fim da temporada. De acordo com apuração do GE, o Grêmio será obrigado a comprar Marlon por 3,5 milhões de euros (cerca de R$ 23 milhões) caso o lateral participe de 20 partidas entre o início do empréstimo e o fim do ano. Até o momento, ele já entrou em campo 10 vezes com a camisa tricolor.
