Choque de gerações: com 10 anos ‘a mais’ que o Chelsea, Fluminense busca atalhos que só o tempo permite enxergar

“Não se iludam. Não me iludo. Tudo agora mesmo pode estar por um segundo”. Os versos da canção “Tempo-Rei”, do tricolor Gilberto Gil, poderiam muito bem embalar o sonho do Fluminense de ir à final da Copa do Mundo de Clubes em caso de vitória sobre o Chelsea, às 16h, em Nova Jersey. Assim como na decisão de 2023 contra o Manchester City, a experiência predomina na equipe brasileira em relação ao time inglês, recheado de jovens talentos.

Pois talvez esteja na sensação mais real da finitude uma das vantagens do time comandado por Renato Gaúcho. A partida marca o encontro de dois projetos de futebol novamente distintos pela questão financeira, e que gera um choque de gerações entre dois times separados por quase uma década na média de idade.

Se por um lado o Fluminense aposta na experiência e no entrosamento de um grupo veterano, o Chelsea chega reformulado e com uma das escalações mais jovens do torneio da Fifa. A diferença é escancarada pelos números: enquanto os possíveis titulares do tricolor têm média de idade de 31,8 anos, os dos Blues têm apenas 23,7 anos. A diferença chama atenção pelo tipo de confronto que é esperado para esta tarde no calor do estádio MetLife.

— Temos que estar preparado para os duelos no jogo. Se não duelarmos, não vamos conseguir fazer nosso melhor papel. Estamos preparados para esse tipo de jogo. Vai ser uma pedreira — resumiu o capitão Thiago Silva, 40 anos.

O defensor será importante não apenas por sua experiência, mas por reencontrar o ex-clube, onde atuou entre 2020 e 2024. Segundo ele, o diálogo com os ex-companheiros é diário, e há respeito do outro lado. Mesmo com a proximidade, o zagueiro diz que passa informações sobre o rival, mas na prática tudo será diferente.

— Não adianta querer chegar e jogar de igual para igual. Vamos procurar jogar. Mas os caras estão em um nível acima. Com nosso sonho, nossa raça, motivação, vamos tentar compensar, dar a vida como estamos fazendo nos jogos — acrescentou o veterano.

Espinha dorsal dá segurança

O Fluminense confia em sua espinha dorsal experiente para tentar fazer história. Além de Thiago Silva, de 40 anos, tem o goleiro Fábio, 44, e Germán Cano, 37, todos acostumados a decisões. Os veteranos transmitem essa segurança ao restante do elenco. Sobretudo o goleiro, que até aqui tem feito a diferença.

— Ele é inexplicável, a cada jogo faz coisas que deixam todo mundo impressionado. Sabemos do tamanho dele, da grandeza dele no futebol. Com essa idade, faz parecer que quanto mais o tempo passa, mais jovem e melhor ele fica — disse Guga, que pode ser titular na vaga de Samuel Xavier, com desgaste físico, e ajudar a reduzir um pouco a média de idade.

Por outo lado, com a entrada de Thiago Santos (35 anos) ou Renê (32) no lugar do suspenso Freytes (25) o time ficará ainda mais cascudo. Com isso, a média de idade da equipe nesta semifinal pode chegar a quase 32 anos — pouco abaixo da que entrou em campo na final do Mundial de 2023, contra o Manchester City, que foi de 32,3 anos.

Sob o comando do italiano Enzo Maresca, o clube de Londres vive um processo de reconstrução ousado, apostando em atletas jovens, muitos deles recém-promovidos ou contratados ainda como promessas. A provável escalação conta com nomes como o brasileiro Andrey Santos (21), Cole Palmer (23), Malo Gusto (22) e o atacante Pedro Neto (21). Mesmo os mais “rodados”, como Nkunku e Sánchez, não ultrapassam os 27 anos. Recentemente, o Chelsea anunciou João Pedro, 23, formado no Fluminense e já à disposição desde o jogo com o Palmeiras.

— O Chelsea tem um meio-campo muito forte, que ataca espaço, veloz pelas pontas. Temos que ter cuidado com as infiltrações. Tem jogadores jovens. Um time bastante intenso —afirmou Nonato, outro da geração mais nova do Fluminense que tenta igualar no quesito disposição.

O técnico Renato Gaúcho observou o adversário e apontou as mesmas qualidades. Além disso, ressaltou a importância de dosar o ritmo da partida para aguentar chegar até o fim em alto nível. Vale lembrar que o jogo do Palmeiras no estádio de Nova Jersey já foi paralisado em função do alerta de tempestades, o que é outro agravante para tornar o duelo mais desgastante fisicamente. Dessa vez, portanto, é possível esperar um Flu ainda mais cauteloso e reativo.

— Não pode se jogar para dentro do adversário nos primeiros minutos, porque é muito perigoso, justamente pelo esquema que o Chelsea usa. Vai ser importante a posse de bola, num calor insuportável. Se ficar correndo atrás o desgaste vai ser grande. Neutralizar, mas ficar com a bola. Jogar também. É uma partida de poucas oportunidades — antevê Renato.

Técnico do Chelsea, Enzo Maresca também ponderou sobre a diferença da média de idade entre os times.

— Acho que há prós e contras. Nós jogamos toda uma temporada sendo os mais jovens da Premier League, tivemos rivais experientes e vencemos e perdemos. Agora será a mesma coisa. Somos talvez o time mais jovem, vamos enfrentar alguns jogadores de idade mais avançada e será um desafio para nós — lembrou, com respeito ao Fluminense e elogioso ao futebol brasileiro em geral.

Hoje, mais uma vez, é hora de o tricolor evocar Gilberto Gil. E “andar com fé”.
