McBain odehrál v uplynulém ročníku všech 82 zápasů v základní části a připsal si 27 bodů za 13 gólů a 14 nahrávek. Do NHL ho draftovala v roce 2018 ze 63. místa Minnesota, za Wild si ale nezahrál. Před přestěhováním klubu do Utahu hrál pouze za Arizonu. Celkem má v NHL 241 startů a 82 bodů (35+47).
