O futuro de Matías Arezo no Grêmio segue com status de incógnita. Peça importante na vitória sobre o São José nesta terça-feira (08), que rendeu ao Imortal o título da Recopa Gaúcha, o jogador uruguaio se posicionou sobre a ‘novela’ envolvendo uma possível transferência para o Peñarol, mas adotou mistério nas declarações, deixando a entender que o caso será debatido nos bastidores.
De acordo com informações do ge, Arezo deseja ter uma reunião com representantes do Grêmio e Peñarol para tentar chegar a um denominador comum. Em um primeiro momento, o time uruguaio ofertou uma proposta por empréstimo de seis meses, algo rechaçado pelo Tricolor. Nos bastidores, o atleta de 22 anos deixou explícito a insatisfação por não ter tanta sequência no time de Mano Menezes, uma vez que visa entrar no radar dos convocados da seleção uruguaia para a Copa do Mundo.
“É uma incógnita, não falamos nada ainda. Mas estamos aqui, concentrados. Por enquanto não tem novidade de nada. Eu pertenço ao Grêmio, não depende de mim. O clube que me contratou. Estou feliz aqui”, pontuou o centroavante, que atuou os 90 minutos contra o São José.

Vinculado ao Grêmio até dezembro de 2028, Arezo está avaliado no mercado em 6 milhões de euros, cerca de R$ 38,3 milhões na cotação atual. Contratado na última temporada, o atleta acumula 36 jogos, com seis gols e duas assistências – com todas as participações em gols sendo registradas em 2025, onde acumula 1.127 minutos em campo.
Revelado pelas categorias de base do River Plate-URU, o jovem computa três jogos pela seleção principal do Uruguai, com um gol anotado (todos os embates foram amistosos realizados em 2023), e vislumbra com uma sequência de protagonismo para retornar ao radar da celeste.
Mano Menezes reforça comprometimento de Arezo
Na coletiva pós-jogo, o técnico do Grêmio foi questionado sobre a situação de Arezo, e classificou o cenário de indefinição como algo normal dentro do futebol, chegando a citar Gerson, do Flamengo, como exemplo. Ele, no entanto, fez questão de pontuar sobre o comprometimento de Arezo durante os treinamentos e nas partidas, destacando que o centroavante está empenhado a cumprir a parte profissional no Tricolor.
