As pendências

Shohei Ohtani already knows what’s wrong with the Dodgers and proposes the solution to get out of the crisis

One of MLB's most dominant powerhouses, the Los Angeles Dodgers, find themselves mired in their worst losing streak in five years, a stunning collapse that has rocked the franchise. With a record that still keeps them at the top of the National League West Division (56-37), the five-game losing streak has set alarm bells ringing, and their star player, Shohei Ohtani, has not hesitated to point out the problem with a frankness that resonates throughout the team. The team's decline has been abrupt and painful. In this renaissance era of women's boxing, where headlining bouts became commonplace involving some of the best and most marketable female practitioners in the sport's history, one rivalry has stood out above all. On Friday night, Irish sporting hero and undisputed junior welterweight champion Katie Taylor (24-1, 6 KOs) will take on boxing's only nine-division champion, Amanda Serrano (47-3-1, 31 KOs), in the third (and likely final) meeting between two all-time greats and future Hall of Famers. The fight, which emanates from the hallowed halls of New York's Madison Square Garden, will also headline an all-female card (8 p.m. ET), which airs live to subscribers on Netflix, and promises to be just as exciting as their first two meetings, both of which ended with a Taylor victory, disputed scorecards and a nomination for fight of the year."Those two are two all-time greats […]

Red Bull fires Christian Horner: How team principal’s ouster could affect Max Verstappen, Mercedes, Ferrari

The Formula 1 paddock was rocked Wednesday by the news that Christian Horner, the longtime CEO and team principal of Red Bull Racing, has been fired after a 20-year run that featured many race wins and championships with drivers like Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. Horner's dismissal comes after a sharp decline in Red Bull's performance from its heights in 2023, as Verstappen's performance has fallen off from its championship heights and the team's second car has gone through multiple drivers while struggling to be competitive.Considering the gravity of the news and the depth of his resume as an F1 team principal, Horner's firing is sure to have a ripple effect that extends well beyond the headlines of the gap between last weekend's British Grand Prix and the Belgian Grand Prix later this month. The aftershock of Red Bull's change […]
