Travis Kelce might be entering the twilight of his career at age 34, but if you ask Kansas City Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach, the legendary tight end still has plenty left in the tank. Despite speculation surrounding Kelce’s possible decline last season, Veach has doubled down on his belief that the veteran will bounce back in 2025 as a central weapon in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl push.
Kelce‘s 2024 regular season saw a dip in production by his high standards. He finished with 984 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns, his lowest totals since 2015. But a dominant postseason that culminated in another Super Bowl ring silenced many critics.
And according to Veach, there’s no reason to doubt Kelce‘s ability to keep delivering on football’s biggest stage.

“We’ve heard the talk,” Veach said in a recent interview. “We’ve seen the stats. But we know what we have in Travis. He’s the heart and soul of this offense right alongside Patrick.”
Chiefs staying loyal to their core
The Chiefs have undergone some offensive reshuffling this offseason, but one thing remains constant – their faith in Mahomes and Kelce. Veach emphasized that the team’s chemistry, leadership, and championship pedigree hinge on the trust and connection between the two superstars.
“Patrick believes in him. I believe in him. He’ll show again why he’s the best to ever do it,” Veach added.
Kelce’s relationship with global pop star Taylor Swift has only raised his media profile over the past year, but the Chiefs are more focused on what he brings to the locker room and the field. As Kansas City aims for a third straight Super Bowl, all eyes will be on whether Kelce can rise above the chatter and prove his GM – and his quarterback – right once again.
