Der Ex-Bayern-Star hat sich in seinem neuesten Statement zu seinem ehemaligen Verein und Trainer Vincent Kompany geäußert.

Der deutsche Europameister von 1996 lobt zwar: „Vincent Kompany hat es geschafft, die Mannschaft wieder zu beruhigen. Sie hatte zwei sehr schwierige Jahre unter Julian Nagelsmann und Thomas Tuchel. Und Kompany hat dann Ruhe hereingebracht, hat sie zur deutschen Meisterschaft geführt und einen wirklich großartigen Job gemacht.“
Doch, dass vielversprechende Youngster wie Lennart Karl (17) unter anderem bei der Klub-WM so wenige Chancen bekommen haben, stört die Bayern-Legende. Das Offensiv-Juwel hatte beim ersten Gruppenspiel gegen Auckland (10:0) nach seiner Einwechslung zur Pause eine gute Leistung gezeigt, wurde im weiteren Turnierverlauf jedoch nicht mehr eingesetzt.

Babbel: „Was mir gar nicht gefällt ist, dass er nicht den Mut hat, junge Spieler einzubauen. Die Klub-Weltmeisterschaft war ja eigentlich dafür prädestiniert. Wenn man gegen Mannschaften spielt wie Auckland, dass er die jungen Spieler dort auch mal ranlässt, dass er ihnen mal die Bühne gibt, sich zeigen zu können.“
Der viermalige deutsche Meister weiter: „Wir reden ja von Talenten, die etwas können. Das sind ja keine Blindgänger! Man schmeißt ja nicht irgendjemanden dort rein, weil er den Platz irgendwo gewonnen hat und mal bei den Profis mitspielen darf. Das sind die besten Nachwuchskicker, die es in Deutschland oder zum Teil sogar in Europa gibt. Aber es kommt keiner durch.“
Neben U19-Toptalent Karl musste das zuletzt vor allem Linksverteidiger-Hoffnung Adam Aznou (19) leidvoll erfahren. Der A-Nationalspieler Marokkos war extra vorzeitig von seiner halbjährigen Leihe zu Spanien-Klub Valladolid zurückgekehrt, um mit Bayern zur Klub-WM fahren zu können. Zudem verzichtete Aznou für die bestmögliche Vorbereitung auf den Wettbewerb Anfang Juni auf die Länderspiele mit seinem Nationalteam.

Trotz dieser Opfer ließ Kompany den ambitionierten Teenie, der im Sommer 2022 vom FC Barcelona zu Bayern kam, lediglich acht Minuten gegen Auckland spielen. Andere Jugendspieler im WM-Kader der Münchner wie Schweden-Stürmer Jonah Kusi-Asare (18) kamen bei dem FIFA-Turnier sogar gar nicht zum Einsatz.
Geht es Babbel, sollte Coach Kompany diesen Umgang mit den größten Talenten seines Klubs künftig ändern. Der Ex-Bayern-Profi sagt abschließend: „Der FC Bayern investiert so viel Geld in den Nachwuchs, dass da keiner dabei ist, der für die erste Mannschaft gut genug ist, das kann mir keiner erzählen. Nur braucht man natürlich auch einen Trainer, einen Manager, eine Führungsriege, die alle den Mumm haben, eben auch die jungen Spieler reinzuschmeißen.“
