Volejbalistky čekají poslední dvě vystoupení v Lize národů. Záchranu v elitní skupině už mají jistou. Postup do čtvrtfinále je naopak spíš v oblasti teorie, ale tím si národní tým nenechal zkazit náladu z pátečního triumfu 3:1 nad Tureckem. „Jde o skvělý úspěch pro náš volejbal,“ neskrývala nadšení blokařka Magdaléna Jehlářová.
Svěřenkyně řeckého kouče Jannise Athanasopulose nyní čekají domácí Nizozemky. Střetnou se s nimi zhruba 17 hodin po konci utkání s Tureckem. „Vítězství jsme oslavily do konce dne, ale pak už jsme se začaly koncentrovat na další zápas. Důležitá je regenerace a příprava jako na každý jiný zápas. Věřím, že se na oba následující dobře připravíme,“ uvedla nahrávačka Kateřina Valková.
Kromě Nizozemska se Češky v závěru skupiny utkají ještě v neděli od 12:30 s Belgií.
„Před turnajem jsme s hráčkami hodně mluvili o tom, jak je formát Ligy národů nebezpečný. Ať už vyhrajete, nebo prohrajete, zítra je nový den a na ten se musíme připravit. Musíme být realisté, chvíli slavit, ale pak si odpočinout na zítřejší těžký zápas s Holandskem,“ konstatoval v pátek večer trenéra Athanasopulos.
Nizozemky jdou do duelu v roli mírného favorita. Jsou na tom stejně jako český tým, neboť mají na kontě shodně 13 bodů. Vítěz tohoto duelu tak bude držet teoretickou naději na vyřazovací boje.
Češkám aktuálně patří devátá, první nepostupová pozice. Na osmé Spojené státy ztrácí čtyři body. Šance na čtvrtfinále v Polsku tedy ještě žije, ale volejbalistky už by kromě svých výher potřebovaly také pomoc ostatních. Američanky čekají ještě dvě vystoupení, a to proti Kanadě a Číně. V tom prvním ale budou velkými favoritkami, protože Kanadě patří až 16. příčka z 18 účastníků.
