The Buffalo Bills are once again entering a season with sky-high expectations-and one clear goal: win the franchise’s first Super Bowl. With a veteran core led by MVP quarterback Josh Allen, the roster has all the makings of a contender.

And while there are multiple contributors capable of playing supporting roles, none has proven capable of consistently drawing the defense’s full attention – except, perhaps, second-year wideout Keon Coleman.
The Bills are betting big on Coleman
Drafted in the second round in 2024 out of Florida State, Coleman entered the NFL with expectations of stardom.
At 6’4″ with impressive body control and vertical ability, he brought physical tools that immediately turned heads. His rookie season, however, was uneven.
Limited by injuries, Coleman still managed to collect over 500 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 29 catches. While the numbers were modest, the postseason told a different story. Coleman showed signs of becoming a real playmaker-especially when it mattered most.
That’s why Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton recently named him Buffalo’s “most promising building block.”
“If the big-play wideout stays healthy in the upcoming term, he can lead the team in multiple receiving categories.” Moton noted.
That kind of upside is exactly what Buffalo needs as they look to evolve their offensive identity post-Diggs.
The Bills don’t lack in weapons-tight ends like Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid, and a serviceable wide receiver corps are all still in the mix.
But Buffalo is missing a true WR1, the kind of player defenses must scheme around. Coleman is the only pass-catcher on the roster with that potential.
For Buffalo, it’s not just about individual development – it’s about maximizing their championship window. Allen is in his prime. The offensive line remains strong. The defense has been one of the most consistent units in football over the last few years. What they need now is an elite, difference-making receiver to complete the puzzle.
Coleman has shown glimpses that he could be that player. What remains is turning those flashes into consistent production. That will come down to health, trust from Allen, and Coleman’s continued refinement as a route runner and target in the red zone.
As training camp approaches, all eyes in Buffalo will be on No. 0. If Keon Coleman can stay healthy and elevate his game, he could become the breakout star of 2025 – and the final piece the Bills need to finally bring a Super Bowl title to Western New York.
