Análise: Em vitória sob nova direção, Botafogo mostra ao Vasco o que é inegociável para competir no topo

O centroavante Igor Jesus e o zagueiro Jair, negociados com o futebol inglês, foram perdas de peso para o Botafogo na sequência da temporada. Mas se jogadores são negociáveis no atual campeão brasileiro e da América, a necessidade de reposição com bons reforços não é. Com brilho de Arthur Cabral e Kaio Fernando, que substituíram a dupla que se despediu, respectivamente, além de Montoro, outra contratação feita às vésperas da Copa do Mundo de Clubes, o alvinegro fez 2 a 0 sobre o Vasco em clássico no Mané Garrincha, em Brasília, que marcou o retorno de ambas às equipes ao Brasileirão após a parada para a competição internacional.

Sem reforços em campo (Thiago Mendes, único contratado neste segundo semestre, ainda passará por condicionamento físico), o Vasco voltou a campo com o mesmo time que vinha utilizando há 30 dias atrás. Sentiu muito a falta de ritmo de jogo, dado o longo o período sem partidas. Errou muito e não conseguiu capitalizar os erros do Botafogo, que dava espaços a Tchê Tchê e Coutinho pelo meio. Quando precisou mudar o cenário, o técnico Fernando Diniz teve que recorrer a mudanças como a entrada de Alex Teixeira e Mateus Carvalho, reservas que pouco acrescentaram até este ponto da temporada.

Em entrevista coletiva após a partida, o técnico Fernando Diniz revelou que o time sofreu com problemas físicos nesta última semana de intertemporada. Coutinho, que deixou a partida no segundo tempo com desconforto na panturrilha, virou desfalque.

— Os treinos foram muito bons, muito intensos, os jogadores responderam muito bem. Essa semana a gente teve a fratura do Adson, o Coutinho sentiu a panturrilha e virou dúvida no meio da semana, o Rayan ontem torceu o tornozelo e me gerou uma certa dúvida para hoje — explicou.

O Botafogo, ainda que se entrosando com as mexidas, tinha uma clara unidade, tanto pela espinha dorsal do elenco e a rotina de jogos de alto nível no Mundial, quanto pela qualidade dos substitutos aos negociados que iniciaram a partida. Na estreia não oficial do técnico Davide Ancelotti, que assinou a súmula como um dos auxiliares (Cláudio Caçapa foi o técnico interino), deu ótimos sinais de que a sequência da temporada pode ser bastante competitiva. Já briga na parte de cima da tabela.

O primeiro gol foi um símbolo desse “reset” positivo no futebol. A jogada foi iniciada em antecipação de Kaio a Vegetti ainda no campo de defesa, contou com bom poder de drible e finalização em curto espaço de Montoro e terminou com oportunismo de Arthur Cabral, que já havia assustado Léo Jardim.

— A principal peça foi o coletivo. Vimos um jogo aguerrido, todo mundo defendendo e protegendo o John. Com a bola, todos quiseram jogar. Poderíamos ter marcado mais gols, foi o que faltou no segundo tempo. Mas hoje o todo foi muito bom. O coletivo está de parabéns — analisou Caçapa após a partida.

Atônito após o gol, o Vasco sofreu com a exposição e viu um Botafogo inteligente esperando os momentos certos para contra-atacar explorando sua linha de defesa alta quase sempre com superioridade numérica. Assim, puniu com o gol de Nathan, após bela triangulação que terminou em passe de Marlon Freitas para o autor do tento.

Para o cruz-maltino, que segue estacionado na parte de baixo da tabela, fica também o questionamento de quanto vale negociar seu mando de campo. Uma questão que piorou com as lamentáveis condições do gramado do Mané Garrincha, que soltava nuvens de areia a cada jogada mais firme. As dificuldades financeiras do clube são evidentes, mas abrir mão da força de São Januário contra um adversário tão complicado pode ser um detalhe que faz a diferença ao fim do campeonato. Principalmente se o desempenho seguir evoluindo a passos lentos.
