West Ham have reached an agreement with Czech club Slavia Prague to sign defender El Hadji Malick Diouf.
The 20-year-old would be West Ham’s first signing of the summer in a window which has seen significant outgoings.
Mohammed Kudus has been sold to Tottenham Hotspur while Lukasz Fabianski, Vladimir Coufal, Aaron Cresswell and Danny Ings have also left the London club. Michail Antonio’s contract also expired on June 30, but his departure has not been formally announced.

Diouf joined Slavia Prague from Norwegian club Tromso in January 2024. Last season he made 41 appearances in all competitions, registering seven goals and four assists, as the capital-based club came first in both the regular season and championship round of the Czech top flight.
The Senegal international made his senior national team debut in September of last year and has made four appearances, six including international friendlies.
West Ham finished 14th in the Premier League last season. Graham Potter took over as head coach in January after the exit of Julen Lopetegui but could not improve the London club’s league position.
The signing of a defender comes after West Ham finished the 2024-25 season with the worst goal difference of the clubs to avoid relegation. A striker also remains a key target for Potter before the end of the transfer window.

Bashir to miss rest of England vs India Test series with fractured finger
England spinner Shoaib Bashir has sustained a fracture to one of his left fingers and has been ruled out of the remainder of the Test series against India. He is scheduled to undergo surgery later this week.
